The Akashic Records

in #fighting5 years ago

We begin in a plain stone room where an old bald man sits across from a fifteen year old Tarrasque. Both sit in the lotus position though Tarrasque seems clearly uncomfortable. The old man is Maha Raj, a master of the Akashic Records. The two rather large men that stand on either side of Tarrasque are there to ensure that he meditates. Tarrasque is topless with being hooked up to a heart monitor.

Right now? Tarrasque is not in a meditative state, though he is trying. He opens one eye to look at Maha Raj to see if he’s doing anything different.

When the heart monitor beeps to indicate that Tarrasque’s heartbeat is way out of the range for being in a meditative stance, one of the goons by Tarrasque punches him in the gut. The other goon punches Tarrasque in the side of the head.

Tarrasque spits blood onto the floor and tries to meditate again. When he fails again, each of the goons take another shot. Tarrasque shakes his head and tries to meditate again.

Maha Raj: You will not be able to access the Akashic Records unless you can meditate properly upon them.

Tarrasque: Me no can meditate when me being hit!

This, naturally, brings a couple of punches from the goons that rock Tarrasque’s world. He composes himself and tries again.

How can he bring himself down to a meditative state with the threat of violence every few minutes if he does not. It makes little sense. How long has it been. Is he meditating now? Is this the records? Is this?

The answer comes as an abrupt no as he is punched again and again. The world turns sideways as Tarrasque falls to his side, dizzy from the repeated blows to the head.

He feels arms lift him back up into his sitting position and water splashed in his face. Maha Raj looks angry, but what about? He knows he is trying.

Maha Raj: You must concentrate. You will have to learn how to reach the meditative state even under duress! You must be able to get to this state within seconds as to find the skill you need for the mission at hand!

Tarrasque: Me do.

Meditate under duress. Sounds like an impossible mission. And yet. Tarrasque can feel himself relaxing. His breathing and heartbeat begin to slow. He can sense the disgust of his companions at his sides as his bladder is also relaxed all over the floor. He can feel it! Knowledge from the past, present, and even the future washing over him, but he must find something in particular. A certain knowledge to prove that he had made it to the Akashic Records.

Aha!

Maybe now that he has found this bit of info, he can peer into his future to see-

Lightning strikes him in the chest, snapping him out of his meditative state. He opens his eyes to see that he is laying in a puddle of his own wee, shock paddles above his head.

“He’s awake!”

Maha Raj is standing by him as Tarrasque is helped to his feet.

Maha Raj: Did you make it to the Akashic Records? Your heartbeat dropped to nearly nothing. I told them it was ok, but they thought you were dying.

Tarrasque looks around at the goons, the paddles, and Maha Raj.

Tarrasque: Why people call you Spoon when you little?

The goons look to Maha Raj with a chuckle. He shakes his head.

Maha Raj: You are useless! You cannot access the records! Guards...take him back to his cell. Let him rot in his piss!

Tarrasque is taken to his cell and thrown in with the door being locked behind him. An hour later, the window is opened. It is Maha Raj.

Maha Raj: I have seen a future where you are the start of a legion of super soldiers. This cannot be. Do not let them know that you can access the records. And...I always carried my own spoon with me as a child. That is why.

An adult Tarrasque opens his eyes on the airplane that’s heading to Atlanta. Seated next to him is Marcus Anderson. He was true to Maha Raj up until he met “the Brain” Allen Anderson, who took him in as one of the family. That’s when he let the secret of the Akashic Records spill. He’s still surprised that the Warhammer Corporation hasn’t tried to replicate what they have tried with him. Maybe it would work with less brainwashing, but that’s not for him to tell. Marcus sees that he’s awake and playfully elbows him.

Anderson: You see here where Bloodied Fox says that he can out wrestle you once you get into the ring with him. He says that no matter what battle plan I instill into you, that he can break it once he’s in the ring with you. He says this because he says that he’s always taking on men bigger than him.

Tarrasque: Me no going fuck him.

Right about now, if Marcus were to have been drinking something, this would be a spit take moment. As is stands, Marcus is left with his jaw hanging open.

Anderson: Why would you say such a thing? Of course you’re not going to have sex with him!

Tarrasque: Him always take on bigger men. Me bigger.

Tarrasque pats his crotch in a weird, perverted way. Marcus shudders.

Anderson: Gay bashing is not like you.

Tarrasque only shrugs with a grin.

Tarrasque: Me bash him person too. Him no mas...mastermind wrestler. Me am strong. Me am fast. Me could be tech...technical, but me no like. Me am best wrestler.

Anderson: And Xiaolong says that you focus so much on the past. Who was it remembering more details about the past than you? Him. Do you remember the wargames between Shootfighter’s stable and the Warhammer Corporation where Shootfighter’s leg was broken by Hiroshima when it was all over? Pulled the cage right down onto his leg. I know, cause I watched it on television. He knows, because Shootfighter never got over it.

Tarrasque chuckles.

Tarrasque: Xiaolong funny. Why him even try? Me know me no can climb mountain so me not try. Him know him cannot win. Why try?

Anderson: I don’t think that he knows that he’s going to lose. In fact, I’m pretty sure that he thinks that he’s going to get some kind of vengeance against Bloodied Fox and then defeat you where his teacher could not.

Tarrasque laughs.

Tarrasque: Xiaolong must know.

This gets Marcus to raise an eyebrow.

Anderson: Really? How must he know?

Tarrasque places his hands together, palm to palm, as if coming up with an absolute truth.

Tarrasque: Sun rise in East?

Anderson: Yes?

Tarrasque: Bear crap in woods?

Anderson: Yes?

Tarrasque: Then Xiaolong know that student of Shootfighter never beat me. Basic truths.

Marcus nods in a sort of sarcastic way.

Anderson: Riiiight. And if he should somehow pull off a win here?

Tarrasque: Me eat him.

Anderson: You’ll eat him if he wins? That seems rather extreme. Doesn’t it?

Tarrasque just shrugs and wipes drool from his mouth. Marcus just grins.

Anderson: Don’t throw the match to him as an excuse to eat him.

Tarrasque: Oh me no lose.

At about this time, the pair go into silence as the Captain announces that they are about to land the airplane in Atlanta.
