THE GREATEST MILITARY GENERAL (ALEXANDER THE GREAT)

The Macedonian army which was absolutely under the control and leadership of Alexander was vast, powerful and full of very tactical Greek veterans. They were highly coordinated, efficient and spontaneous in carrying out orders from Alexander.

He lured Mercenaries by offering his loot from battles and kings he conquered. Those he defeated joined him in his crusade. This increased his army to almost 120,000 frontline troops. There was a time he fought with Memnon of Rhodes under Darius III who almost killed him although he later died of hemorragic infection.

He was very king and generous. His generosity to his fallen soldiers family was very much appreciated and talked about this earned him much trust among his soldiers. Another striking thing about him was that he was always at the battle front leading his vast army and he trusted his soldiers this made him endeared to them. He was also schooled by Aristotle the great Philosopher.
