Sandra checked her watsapp one more time, to see if he had watched her status. He hadn't. Eight hours since she updated it. He was online an hour ago. She put her phone back inside her purse and tried to concentrate on the lecture. Janet wasn't in school yet. She had told Sandra she wasn't going to be in class that morning. She was the only person in the whole department that Sandra really talked to because Sandra thought she was cool. The other girls were either too nerdy or not so easy to talk to. The boys were few and nerdy too. So she sat there in class alone, trying to understand mathematics. Ten minutes more and the lecture would be over. She took her phone out again to check her instagram. Her followers were fast increasing. She already had a hundred views from the last tiktok video she posted a day ago. She got a notification from watsapp. Derek had commented "nice" on her status. She replied with a smiling emoji, hoping he wouldn't try to start a conversation with her. The lecturer was done and was leaving the class. Everybody else was leaving too. She sat there. She got another message from Derek,
"When are you coming to see me?". She expected it, and as usual she'd ignore it.
David had seen her status. It excited her. Now that he knew it was her, maybe he'd text her.
He didn't text her. She had gone back home when Janet had called her and said she wasn't going to be in school. She was lying on the mattress that she and Chika shared, grateful that Chika wasn't home yet. She got a reply from Daniel on watsapp, she had texted him about five minutes ago.
"How you been?"
"Good, you?". He replied
"I'm great. How was your day?".
"Boring. Were you at school today?".
"Sure, D. I'm a nerd, lol".
"😂😂 yes you are".
"I'm home now though, and I'm bored".
"Eyhaa... Would hang out with you but I'm with Nono rn".
"I can still come over, we can have a threesome..." . He replied with two laughing emojis.
"No thanks, I'm not ready to share my girlfriend. We're going out though. Can we talk later?".
"Sure. Bye bye. 👋👋"
"Bye😊"
"Take it easy on the fucking though 😂".
"When it's your turn, I'll take it easy". She laughed. Talking to Daniel made her happy. It lightened her mood. It made her tap on David's contact and send, "hi", even though he wasn't online.
