Can't thank you enough for helping me with the Armistice Contest! I'm seeing lots of activity in the workshop and expect to have some great stories to consider come Saturday night.

Thank you!

I'm glad it got you started! I am looking forward to seeing the entries start pouring in!

First one came in early this morning from @creatr!

I've really been wanting to see some good science fiction on the topic of time travel. I was actually thinking the last few days that it would be great if I could find a sponsor.

Although I'm still pretty new here, I've been participating in a lot of writing contests, and I think I have a pretty good idea of what works and what doesn't.

My wife, @carrieallen, is very active in chat, and promoting such a contest would be fairly easy.

I think that everyone would love some great time-travel stories. I was thinking 600-1000 words, but I'm flexible on that.

Thank you for extending this opportunity! Resteemed and followed!

Time Travel you say, well take a look at my story its unusual time travelling.... cheers Dave

i am really thankful for the positivity around me and good people like you on steemit who make everyday special :)

50,000 words is a lot of work. Even if you write it down spontaneously without much of a plot 1,700 words per day are about half an hour of writing. You must be into this a lot to do it. So it's no wonder that only 3 took it up so far.

I'm not asking for 50,000 words. I just want people in the spirit of writing. I want 600+ words for these contests. It's just an effort to get people writing, in the spirit of NaNoWriMo. I can't even imagine a 50,000 word post on Steem. That's a bit unworkable!

1700 words per day to reach 50,000 words in a month,

I was referring to this 50k per month, which is still a lot.

Your post has ~500 words and I am sure you've spent some time with it. It's not different with writing fiction I guess. It just consumes a lot of time and that thins out potential participants, although NaNoWriMo is surely great for people with the necessary time and muse.

It's possible. I've seen quite a number of people take up projects like this and even over shoot it.

I know someone who writes s about 5000 words everyday. It's difficult, yeah! But, it's achievable nonetheless.

how do we submit it?

Hi Mike, thank you so much for sponsoring the contest - One Day in 2040.

Hopefully this will get people thinking... and writing.

As a reader, (I just found your post), I want to belatedly thank you for supporting the writers/storytellers. Without them there would be no stories to read. So thank you.
