Chapter 29 Saint Anders Hospital

Finally, Justin was ready for his journey. After pushing the final button, he set off.  Although he was completely focused, he was traveling differently than in the past. He was flying on his old dog, Ruffus and was transported to Saint Anders Hospital. It felt very similar to a dream he had in the past. As he flew over his destination point, Ruffus disappeared and Justin dropped down, down, down and finally landed in a vacant playground.  It was very dark and Justin waited for his cloned body to mature.

Checking his watch, it was about 11:05 and he began to set course for Saint Anders Hospital. There were very few people around and he stealthily entered the hospital without being seen.

He looked to the right beyond the elevators. There was a door that lead to a staircase. He climbed up to the 5th floor which was the neonatal care. He opened the staircase door and to the left there was an open janitors closet. He quietly walked to the janitors closet and entered closing the door behind him. Locking himself inside , he searched the small room. He then noticed a doctor's garment. He put on the garment and inside the pocket was a key. 'The key is here, just as the instructions said it would be.', he thought.  Justin then checked his watch and it was 11:29. Because he was hearing voices outside the closet, he had to wait for about ten minutes. Finally they left.

Justin crept out of the closet and then returned to the stair case. He descended to the 3rd floor. As he opened the stairway door and looked around, it was very quiet. He walked down the hallway to his right and stopped right near room 16A, which was an occupied patience room. After waiting a minute, he sees a nurse walk out from the room.

Approaching the nurse, Justin said, "Excuse me."

"Yes. May I help you?", asked Nurse Latresky.

"This may sound strange, but this is a life or death situation.", Justin said intensely as he continued. "I am about to share critical information with you. Please, please do not share this interaction with anyone.", he pleaded. "Can I trust you?"

Nurse Latresky was so shocked by the whole event, that all she managed to say was, "Yes."

"Thank you. Please take this envelope.", he said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out the smaller envelope he had received prior to time traveling. "You must not read this until you get home. Make sure you open it privately and please follow the directions exactly."

Connie Latresky was just standing there with the envelope in her hand. For a moment she was frozen.

Saying nothing else to Connie Latresky, Justin quickly turned around and headed back to the stair case. Once inside the stairway, he quickly looked at his watch. It read 12:19. He then quickly rushed to the 7th floor employee area.

There were a few people down the hallway conversing, however they had their backs turned. Moving in the opposite direction, Justin quickly moved down the hallway and then turned left. Immediately to his right was a locked utility closet. He reached into his uniform pocked and pulled out the key he found earlier. With the key he opened the utility closet and spotted a defibrillator. After grabbing the defilbrillator,  he quickly ran back to the stairwell and then back down to the third floor. Quickly glancing at his watch it was 12:26.

He could hear a frantic lady who was screaming and panicking.  "How could this be happening?", he heard her cry.

He dashed to where he heard the voice and inside the room he saw his mother, Katherine, in a frenzied state he had never seen before. She had tears pouring down her eyes. He quickly went to the little boy, put the defibrillator to his chest and pushed. The young Justin's body jerked, but there was no change. Then he pushed the button again and beep, beep, beep..his heart rate returned to normal.

Then Justin quickly knelt down to Kyle, put the defibrillator against his chest and within 20 seconds, Kyle seem revitalized.  Justin then yelled, "Get Kyle a full medical staff! Stat!"

Justin ran out of the room and then back in the stairwell unseen. He trucked back up to the 5th floor and reentered the original janitors closet. Once inside, he put the doctors uniform back and left the defibrillator there as well. He then quietly returned back to the first floor and left the hospital. Making it back to the playground, he waited and rested.

"He's awake already? Nothing happened.", uttered a perplexed Kirstin.

"On the contrary.", remarked Blair. "For you it seems like nothing happened, but for him, it could be up to six hours worth of events.  "Justin, how did it go?", asked Blair.

Justin hesitated a moment in recollection. "Wow. It was so intense. So much needed to be done in so little time. I was afraid I wouldn't make it. It is a good thing I had perfect instructions. I had never seen my mother so terrified. She usually is calm and in control. She was balling and helpless. She was in shock while she was watching me resuscitate both Kyle and my younger self. Also, Connie was alarmed. She is an amazing women to have carried through with that request and keeping it secret for so many years."

"Really? I had no clue she was holding on to such a secret for so many years.", said Kirstin.

"She had been my roommate for three years and I thought I knew almost everything about her."

"I have good news for you.", exclaimed ex CIA agent Frank Knuth in a closed door meeting.

"We're all listening. Please continue.", said Dr. Filbrick excitedly.

Frank Knuth arranged this closed door meeting with Elroy Lemons. They also wanted key personnel, Eugene Forthworth.

"I have been observing Justin Time's home for a few days.", continued Frank. "He has a monkey living in there. Anyway, I had a window of opportunity yesterday morning when he drove away. I was able to quietly jimmy open and enter through a bedroom window. I had to bring a tranquilizer gun to shoot the monkey. The monkey didn't even see me. He collapsed within a few seconds. I laid him on the couch and removed the dart. After extensive searching, I found a hidden door from his kitchen pantry to an underground basement. He has a full blown laboratory down there. In the middle was a very elaborate contraption. I have taken hundreds of pictures for you. I also found a letter by his bed-stand. I took a picture of it. It may discourage you, but I'm just doing my job."

"Show me that picture of the letter!", demanded Dr. Filbrick.

Elroy then, downloaded all the photos that Frank had taken. Frank quickly scrolled down and then enlarged the letter he found. It read:

 Justin,

I first need to reiterate that if you do anything out of order, you can alter the outcome. The envelopes and the instructions within them must be done in the appropriate order. By the way, this feels strange writing to myself.  As I said earlier, you were successful in creating time travel, but made several errors. YOU must now rectify those errors. YOU must go back in time to do that!  First of all, you must create and learn how to time travel. You are correct in your book when you discussed what time travel is and isn't  The key to time traveling is NOT some kind of a machine that takes you back and forth through time. You are correct that it must be broken into two parts. This first envelope is your guide on what you must do to construct an apparatus and learn how to time travel. Although you have received experience with your subjects on this matter. You need to apply it to yourself. Your first step is to practice and then perfect controlling your dreams. This may take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple months. You also need to learn deep meditation. There are many books on the subject. It is very important to practice this as well. You cannot take longer than 72 days. Every time you go to sleep, you must first make a concerted effort to tell yourself when you are dreaming. Do not be afraid to test your intuition that you are dreaming by doing something, you wouldn't normally do if you were awake. An example would be running through the neighborhood in your underwear. Once you are consistent on knowing when you are dreaming, the next challenge is controlling your dreams without waking up. This is very important as it is impossible to accomplish and complete any task within your dream if you wake up. Within this envelope is a container of pills. These pills will help you sleep deeper. This is a special sedative your mom created.

At the bottom of the page read...

STOP! ONCE YOU HAVE PERFECTED CONTROLLING YOUR DREAM YOU MAY CONTINUE.

They all read the letter together. After a few moments Dr. Filbrick ranted, "I cannot believe he already developed time travel.  I have spent too much of my life coming in second place to that family!"

Filbrick's face was red and he started foaming like a rabid dog as he continued, "Millions and Millions  of dollars wasted. I get beat by a punk kid whose best friend is a god damn monkey."

Filbrick continued for a few minutes before he was interrupted by Eugene.

"I have an idea that may work. The letter mentioned that Justin made several errors that he has to rectify. This tells me that he isn't quite ready to go public with his work. We have everything we need to proceed. We have hundreds of pictures of his traveling device with descriptions. We also have much much more man power to go at a very face pace. The biggest road block I can see at this point is that we need to train someone on dream control and then using that while in a comatose state."

"I will do it!", demanded Dr. Filbrick.

"I don't know if that is a good idea sir.", interjected Eugene.

"It may take months to..."

"I said I will do it", yelled Filbrick."

"I want the whole crew working around the clock on this project. Elroy, you will have to pull double shifts to make it happen. You will see me daily to give me a progress update. Eugene, I need you to find me the best person to help me train with this stuff regarding dream control and comatose travel."
