Jon Bon Jovi's song "It's My Life" sounded from my pocket, when I was going to investigate the patio floor. In the dark room was dimly visible arrangement of wooden stairs. The light of the porch through the darkness was only a few meters away. My wife and children's waited in the car. I picked up a phone call from Yusuf. (Read: Part 12)

"Assalamualaikum."

"Waalaikumsalam. Have you arrived at the inn?"

"Yes, that's right, but there's something strange about the inn, the floor of the porch is open, I see like there's a basement under the veranda."

"Then what? What is the entrance of the inn is broken? Does anyone enter the inn?" Joseph ask.

"I don't yet know. This is just about to check it out."

"Do you need me there?" Joseph ask again.

"Just make sure that Engku is okay, if he's okay, then you can go to the inn, I'm waiting for you to come here."

"OK."

Then I remembered the figure of Captain Ricky, who had just met at Marina's hospital. I sent a message to Yusuf to join the police officer if he insisted on going to Marina. Who knows they can help me here.

I turned on the smartphone flashlight to trying to see further into the room. But my wife forbade it. She worries alone outdoors only with children. The other side, the man long-haired drunkard has not yet been caught. Then, the midnight terror at the inn was still haunts her.

I obeyed the will of the wife and canceled the intention of investigating the room beneath the porch. The children are sleeping and the porch lights just illuminating of courtyard frontside. I hope Yusuf and Captain Ricky can arrive as soon as possible to the inn. My curiosity peaked out of boredom waiting like this.

As the saturated waits began to haunt me, there came the sound of bushes around the inn. Like something is approaching. I turned off the engine to hear the bushes clearly. The sound of the bush is getting closer. I took a deep breath and then saw my slightly nervous wife.

"Maybe a deer or a resident pet," told me to my wife. I hope she keeps quiet.

From the west a small boy appeared to run fast. I suspect he did not notice our car parked in the front yard. Maybe it was so dark that he did not know the we are had returned. The little boy headed straight for the porch. And He disappeares at there!

I looking at the my wife. Vice versa. I motioned to get out of the car, when suddenly the car's light came from the inn's gate. "Yusuf!"

My feeling is right. Yusuf arrived at the lodge with Captain Ricky and another police officer. They stopped the car right beside us.

"How are you doing? Is it okay?" Captain Ricky ask me.

"Yes, we're fine, but I haven't checked the dungeon, because I can not bear to must leave my family here."

"All right, let's check it out. Your wife and the children will be accompanied by my partner."

"Wait, there was a little boy running from the bushes and coming into the basement, Just a few minutes before you came here," said me.

"Hmmm .... More interesting."

Me, Yusuf, and Captain Ricky have agreed to investigate the room under the porch. I'm really wondering who exactly the little boy was. Why did he walk into the room, like he was a familiar for that.

"Maybe his."

"Whats up?"

"Ah, no matter. Maybe just my feeling, or maybe that little boy who "make trouble" for us every night. Who know."

Captain Ricky smiled. We were already on the verandah and saw the floor was closed as before. Nothing damaged or even seen like having underground room there.

Captain Ricky then tapped the porch floor. He looks like he's looking for something. "This is it!"

Ricky then pulled a piece of rope that turned out to be the handle to open the dungeon. Just as I thought, there was room there. We saw the staircase leading down the porch. Ricky and me went into the room. While Yusuf proposes to enter the inn. "Who knows there's another door in the inn that connects to this basement."

Yusuf opens the door of the inn and switches on the living room lights. "Shhh!" Yusuf called me who had just descended the third rung. "What is wrong?"

"Inside is an open floor."

"Okay."

Yusuf gives the code to the police officers outside to contact the back-up. While Ricky and I were under the porch.

"Be careful, the room here is narrow and the ceiling is low, keep your head and your feet," Ricky told me.

Ricky turned on the flashlight and grasped his semi-automatic gun Walther P99. Ricky pointed that the two objects to the room. Maybe he wants to make sure that nothing can threaten our safety. Then Ricky pointed to a corner of the room. There's a brighter look.

A flash of human shadow emerged from the room. Ricky held me back. He asked me to back off and get out. "Why?" I whispered to Rick.

"Maybe there's another door that makes someone there out ran, we'd better wait for help to the narrow down for steps of the person in the room."

I following Ricky's orders by getting out of the basement. While Ricky is still alert on the bottom step of the basement. He beckoned me to call his partner.

Ricky's partner then approached and followed the burly man into the basement. I do not know what they do there. From a distance visible red-blue light approaching. There was no noise when it police cars that came.

Some officers then pulled the police line and expanded the parameters around the inn. I was asked to wait near the car. So did Yusuf. While my wife kept hugging our children in the cars.

I glanced at my watch. It's been 20 minutes these policemen work, until I seeing Ricky coming out of the basement. Behind him followed two officers.

Ricky smiled at me and Yusuf. He then approached us. "Just two little kids, they've lived there a long time, I don't know how they survived that long time."

I was astonished. Why can the children choose to live in the dungeon? Is not it so dark there? The light of the innkeepers did not penetrate the room at all to.

Ricky then showed the two little boys to us. The boy's face looked shabby. Their shoulder-length hair may never be trimmed. Their nails are black, as black as their hair. "Children are abandoned. We still have difficulty communicating with them. Maybe they are mute or they may never socialize with other people," Ricky said.

He said he would take the two children to the police station. They will also contact the social worker to help deal with these children.

I looked at my wife. She smiled. It turns out these two little boys who "terrorize" us at the inn at every night.

Some ambulance units arrived. The medical workers looked ready to bring the two small children. They also examined the health conditions of both children.

While some other medics went to the basement. They brought some stretchers. I'm confused by this. Who's hurt? Why do medical personnel get into bassement? Up to two nurses out of the basement. They carried a stretcher with white cloth. The sea breeze blows. Blowing my face and also a stretcher cover. There were the human fingers bone.[] (to be continue ...)

This story is just fiction. The similarity of names, places, institutions and stories is a mere coincidence. This is the first fiction I'm writing and immediately publish it in steemit. I hope the criticism and suggestions related to the storyline and editing of writing in this fiction, to be better in the next section. (Author: Boy Nashruddin/@boynashruddin)
