Today I am writing about an interesting Steemit Engagement Challenge S24- W2: which is all time my favourite topic The Envelope this amazing challenge organised by @waqarahmadshah . So, in this post I am going to share my point of view about this topic.

"Story Prompt"

Diego’s night shifts at the 24-hour gas station were usually chill. A few truckers passing through, some tired college kids grabbing energy drinks, and the occasional confused tourist asking for directions. Nothing out of the ordinary. But on the seventh night of his new schedule, things got weird.

At exactly 2:17 in the morning, a rusted blue sedan pulled into the lot. The driver didn’t get out. He just sat there, staring straight at Diego through the glass for a few seconds, then drove off. It was odd, but not scary. At first.

When it happened again the next night, and the one after that, Diego started feeling uneasy. The guy never did anything. Just watched. Like he was waiting for something. Or someone.

Diego told his supervisor, who barely looked up from his old computer. “People are weird,” he mumbled, typing one-handed while sipping gas station coffee.

Still, Diego couldn’t shake it. The man’s face looked kind of familiar, though he couldn’t place it. On the fourth night, Diego finally stepped outside to ask what was going on. But the sedan had already disappeared.

Later that shift, while taking out the trash, Diego spotted something behind the ice machine. A plain white envelope. His name was written on the front in neat, block letters.

Diego saw that there was a white envelope on which his name was written. Out of curiosity, he picked up the envelope and went to a secluded place and opened it. The mysterious person sitting inside the rusty blue car had written an address and a time in the envelope that he should meet him at that place and time this evening.

Diego does not understand that he does not even know that person. Then why did he leave this message to meet him. He keeps on thinking whether he should go or not, what if there is some danger or I should not become a fool by going there, what if someone has played a joke on me.

But then he comes to the conclusion that he should go and meet him. Why does that person come every day and keep staring at me at the same time, because Diego also had a great desire to know this, so he thought that if he goes and meets him, only then he will get the answers to all these questions. Thinking this, Diego reached the fixed place at the fixed time. That place was very dark and deserted.

When Diego reached there, there was silence all around, no one was there. He waited for 10 minutes, he felt as if someone has played a joke on him. Now it is useless to stay here, I should leave. As soon as he turned to leave, a voice came from behind.

Diego, where are you going? I have called you to meet me, on hearing this Diego's feet stopped. His heart beats increased, because that voice was very heavy and scary. He started thinking why he came here. Well, Diego slowly turned back and he saw that a person was standing in the dark.

Then Diego held his breath with great courage and said, who are you, do we know each other, then that man laughed a little and said, "I know you, but you do not know me"

Surprised, Diego started looking at him, then Diego asked him why did you call me here. Then that mysterious person said that you have the secret of a hidden treasure. I have called you here to know only that which you know. Diego was not able to understand anything, because he did not know about any secret treasure.

Diego asked him which secret treasure are you talking about? I do not have any information about this, then that mysterious person said that no, you know, there is a map of that hidden treasure kept in your house. So Diego said, I do not have any map, then that mysterious person said that your father used to have a small box.

Then Diego thought a lot, then he remembered that yes, when I was young, my father used to keep a small box very carefully. After his death, we put that box in the store room, considering it to be an old box of useless iron, it was filled with only papers, so no one had any interest in opening it.

So the mysterious person said to Diego that go I give you 24 hours, find the box from your house and bring that map to me, then Diego with some courage said that what is my benefit in this. Why should I bring it? Then that person said, half of it will be yours and half will be mine. Both of us can benefit from this. On hearing this Diego's eyes lit up, then he said how can I believe that you will not cheat me and why should I give you the map?

When I have the map then I will go and find that hidden treasure myself, then that person said that it is not in your power, you will not be able to do anything alone. I know many things, so if both of us work together then the work will be successful. Then Diego and the mysterious person finalized a deal 50-50.

Diego went to his house and immediately went to the store room and started searching for that box there. After a lot of hard work that box was found. Then he opened the box, which was rusted. Many papers had also turned yellow and torn. He was taking out each paper very carefully, after a lot of efforts he got the map from the box.

He immediately went to meet that mysterious person. And went and showed him the map. On seeing the map, a smile came on that person's face and he said that this is the map of a ruin, where we have to go. We start our journey from today itself, they took some necessary things. Like tools and some food items, both of them set out on their secret journey.

After two days they were standing in front of that ruin, from where they had to reach that hidden treasure with the help of the map. They reached the place of that hidden treasure by walking according to the map, but after reaching there they saw that many snakes were protecting that hidden treasure. Reaching that place was also looking very difficult, because there was a ditch in the middle and the snakes were camping on the other side of the ditch. On seeing this, drops of sweat started falling from Diego's forehead. He got scared thinking how to get this wealth out of the snakes.

Then that mysterious person said that he knows how to control snakes. But the biggest problem was to cross that ditch. Now both of them together started looking for a way to cross the ditch, because if someone falls in the ditch, his body will be roasted directly in the embers, so this was a very difficult path. Then that mysterious person showed a thick rope far away, which he brought and tied to a hook and after tying the other end to the hook as well, he tied it far away threw it across the ditch. It was his good luck that he got stuck there in just a few attempts.

But Diego was very scared, he did not have the courage to cross the ditch. But when the mysterious person gave him courage and said that it is firmly stuck, now we just have to cross this rope slowly and carefully, Diego shook his head. But he could also see the snakes that were beyond this ditch. Then Diego said that if we escape from the ditch, from these embers, then those snakes will never leave us, so what will we do with such wealth.

Then the mysterious person said smilingly, that do not be afraid, I know very well how to tame those snakes. I have grown up among snakes since childhood, so you do not need to be afraid of snakes. Hearing this, Diego felt relieved. Then gathering courage, both of them started crossing the rope slowly and successfully crossed the ditch. He recited some mantras due to which all the snakes got mesmerized and went into their holes.

Then Diego and the mysterious person started collecting the money. As he had said that only he knows some things, he had an idea that he would have to face this type of problem. So, on the basis of their strategy and planning and with their courage, they were successful in getting the money.
