When The Cover image is The Toughest Decision Of The Day - #fff #41steemCreated with Sketch.

Happy Friday! That part wasn’t tough. I knew I’d say something like “happy Friday,” it’s all of this part that’s the tough part—you’re reading... Remix! Did you see Bitcoin today? The overall market cap hasn’t increased much, less than $10 billion, last time I checked it was down $3 billion but #Bitcoin is increasing in value and dominance. It struggled to maintain 50% of the market about three weeks ago at 50.3% I think it got down to—it’s at 55.1% right now. That means people are trading out their altcoins for the popular and stable Bitcoin—adoption... I think! 🤔 What I’m trying to say is, it’s nice to see Bitcoin in the green. 😉 Speaking of green, we had some tacos with green corn shells yesterday.

I only reason I mentioned those tacos just now is because of Bitcoin. The shells were green, like #crypto is today, but I don’t think they’re going be on the cover of this @foodfightfriday contender—not yet anyway. We left Jaco on Monday and will be here, in La Fortuna, Alajuela Province, Costa Rica until next week. We went for a nice one-legged walk that included crossing suspended bridges, I’m sure some of those would make a nice cover image too—decisions, decisions.

We found a dairy-free cheese cake at a local restaurante organico we stopped at, originally for a smoothie and a turmeric shot for Pura Vida, but this cake was rainbow colored, delicious looking and health conscientious all at the same time—we couldn’t help it! That would probably make a good cover image too. We did a “how its made,” chocolate style, tour yesterday. @puravidaville showed you here so I won’t use any of those pictures as my cover image.

The view from the gym is surprisingly nice, too, not sure if it’s cover image nice though. We won’t know about the farmers market until tomorrow but the daily fruit stands here are worthy of being a cover image—decisions, decisions.

I’ll just show you my day yesterday, minus the coffee and chocolate. First things first, a cover image, the view from the gym—no, wait! I think I should use the rainbow cake or the one of the coffee with the chocolate straw—danget! It’s settled, coffee—no, cake! I’m going with the cake, check this out. Raw cashew cheese, almond cheese and lavender cheesecake with an Oreo cookie crust and a sugary lemon spread, topped with cinnamon, pecans and almonds on a fancy plate with two spoons:

3D0B425E-9FC6-4858-B7E2-AEBC9D1EC08E.jpeg

This is the #new view from the gym—it’s been raining since we got here so everything is extra green right now. Every city in Costa Rica is built around the local town church. First it’s the church, follow by a huge park in front of and around the church, and everything else is outside the park. Like the cover image view from the gym:

2577B329-A887-4050-BF4E-289606C1CC6B.jpeg

And our front yard, the “garden view” it’s called, another cover image. It’s two blocks from the church, bordered by a creek, where you’ll probably never see this guy again—a two foot long chameleon:

4FA65E30-73FB-4E50-BA2C-2C439C3BFB39.jpeg

Did you see it? The only reason I knew it was there is because I watched it crawl up that grass hill, it was yellow, I thought it was a boa or something—I hate snakes! Once it stopped crawling, it turned green and black, I knew it was a chameleon. I got a cover image picture of it before I tried to get closer—it took off:

1BE1301D-CA21-4279-B63B-D811DEAE83D7.jpeg

Can you see it without the arrows now?

What about this hummingbird—see it? It’s a little easier to spot, it’s purple and green, pollinating the flower on the right side of the bush: <— my phone insisted on capitalizing “bush” right there, it just did it again actually, any idea why that is? 🤔 As I was saying... hummingbird:

89B78BBC-05E0-4185-B578-2CA988211EDC.jpeg

I found this cool little coffee shop next to the gym with edible chocolate straws—I had two (straws). It’s called Cafeteria Vaca Purpura which means Purple Cow Cafeteria referring to chocolate. There’s a lot of chocolate and coffee in Costa Rica, we just learned yesterday the flower on a cacao plant, where the chocolate comes from, is purple—“purple cow.” They don’t have all of the multiple sized coffee cups in Costa Rica like they do in the states. There’s just two here, pequeña and grande, I got a grande cover image:

On my way back to the storage container we’re staying in until Monday, I saw a poster of people walking across a suspended bridge above the rain forest, it said Arenal Hanging Bridges. I got back to the container, took a shower and we took off. This is when I had the green tortillas, we stopped and had lunch at a Mexican joint before the 30 minute drive to the bridges.

Shrimp tacos, cover image, sin aguacate, sin queso, with lime wedges, rice and beans, bell peppers, onions, pico de gallo, house salsa, some cabbage and green, corn tortillas:

There was a local fruit stand next door where I got two more cover images. We got a few waters and apples for the backpack before we headed out.

Ok, one more stop, but that’s it and then we’re really going to the bridges. We had lunch, loaded up a few snacks, all we’re missing now is two of those coffees, the ones with chocolate straws. This time with to-go lids—“grande:”

Next stop: Arenal Hanging Bridges, this is what we saw: (all taken with a GoPro)

Like all days, it was good, now we’re hungry again. We stopped at a local soda for dinner before going back to the container. The local dish here is called a Casado, it means married, it’s a plate of rice and sometimes beans, a salad and a meat or vegetables. I usually get the fish, this time I had a casado vegetales. A soda is a little garage type building with a store front that looks like it’s still in the process of being converted into a restaurant/kitchen—they’re everywhere.

Casado vegatales, French fries, water, and a coke:

That last dish looks amazing.

Check out that upvote! Good lookin out, @frogcake.

Frogcake is a local bot that some friends had made. The criteria for using it was that you had to attend at least 3 local meet up and then delegate 100SP to it. So far it's been pretty good. When it's working properly it can give up to a 1 Steem upvote.

It keeps me interested in producing content while we are still in the crypto winter.

That lavender cheesecake was so soo sooo good. We should get one before we leave this place. It’s not often we find gluten free and vegan dessert in this country. Great post babe! You know, you could include me in your tags like I do you if you wanted? I really wouldn’t mind ::wink:: ::wink:: love you GoPro Master :)

Bitcoin is going crazy... and the FOMO train is getting full.

I loved the images of the camouflaged animals. Nature is amazing!!! Thanks for all the photos.

Purple Cows, eh? If I hadn't read your explanation, I would have thought that the owners had been experimenting with LSD. 😂 😂 😂

Good to see you, @trincowski, my pleasure. I’m glad you liked this one, how’s the concert touring going? Seems like once a week you’re posting about a new night out with live music—I love it!

Busted! I remember when Purple Cows came through town back in to day, too! Honestly, it’s a good thing I took that tour or I probably would’ve just assumed ‘dairy something.’

About Bitcoin, yeah man I’m comparing numbers from this post that I did last week compared to today’s percentages and I think I’ll add another BTC update to my contender I post today. It’s nice to have a reason to be excited about the market again. A big 👍🏿 Thumbs up.

Thanks for stopping by, @trincowski! See you soon.

Ahahhahh! I have plenty of photos from past shows... I haven't been in a concert since 7 of March. 😎

Yeah, Bitcoin has finally reached another weekly support.

iopmdevei1.png

What will it do now...? To sell or to buy more? - That is the question! 😁

Meanwhile, BTC / STEEM is at the lowest value I've ever seen. Wow!!!

Lots of really appetizing dishes @dandays. I never new that eating a diet void of meat could be so enticing.
The pictures with the GoPro that you took are cool.
That walking bridge is up there, not afraid of heights I guess.
What the heck is that animal in several of the pictures you captured on your walk?
Thanks for including another picture of the container you guys are staying in, looks like the perfect love nest.
What a very creative way to manufacture living space. With the doors open, and some chairs on the porch, it looks so enticing I want to build one for myself.
If you get a chance can you package up a piece of that lavender cheesecake and send it to the following address.

thebigsweed
77 Dirt Road
No Neighbors, NY 010100

Make sure you label the package as FRAGILE!

Great post, I felt that I was on this adventure with you guys.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop as you make your way from one place to the next.
Sounds like you are happy to have left Jaco, some of the people there didn't sound too friendly.

Stay safe my friend.

My favorite New Yorker! Man, this platform just wasn’t the same when you were gone. Not to mention I have a whole new respect for maple syrup—no wonder it’s so expensive.

About the GoPro, I just learned another thing it does, I can set it to take take pictures once every 5, 10, 15 - 60 seconds. I made sure I got all of the things like handle bar clamp and dashboard mount, not knowing how to use the camera, but that I would need them. Set it in place like that, snap pictures 1/60 seconds and then time lapse that! This is gonna be fun. Did you see the one I did of Pura Vida playing catch with seagulls? I’m looking forward to everything that little device is capable of, it’s my pleasure to show you all of this stuff as I learn it, I really appreciate you staying interested—ya’all are the best!

She was a little worried the first couple of times, me not so much. What about you guys? Are heights cool at the ranch?

It’s a Coati, part of the raccoon family. Oh man! There must’ve been 20-30 of them, Rob, no ish! They just kept coming and coming along the side of the mountain, eye level, not even 5 feet away from us and finally crossing the path maybe 15 feet behind us. I was so captivated by the animal I’d never seen I forgot to take pictures, I’m glad I got the few I did. There was so many of them.

I’m with you about those containers! Not a bad idea. I know in California you could get a 20 footer for $1,500. I assume double it to 40’ would be about 3. The gas is propane, minimal electric, it’s a small joint. Can’t be much to make a home out of it—great idea. It was totally comfortable too.

About the cheesecake, it’ll never get passed customs. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum..

My pleasure, sir, thanks for reading them and thank you for sharing your articles with us!

Thanks for stopping by, @thebigsweed.

I've got a GoPro sitting in the case since the day I got it. Used it a few times and got disgusted due to a lack of skills.
The wife is really afraid of heights.
Quick story, Years ago when I was siding our first home, I needed her to hold somehting. She needed to climb up a step ladder to position herself on a section of scaffolding that was one section high, 6 feet off of the ground. She got up there with some difficulty, but getting down was another story.
I literally had to put her over my shoulder and carry her down the ladder.

Its funny how any one particular animal can become commonplace to some people, and yet is fascinating to others who see it as out of the ordinary.

That Maple Syrup really tickles your fancy. I think you have started at least dozen of your replies with mentioning it.
If getting you some ever becomes doable, several bottles will be coming your way.

Enjoy the upcoming weekend, not that it matters what day it is when your in our position. Every day feels like the weekend.

Stay safe @dandays

I take the risk to sound freaking generic, but it was a really good post!
And by this, I mean that it had everything I was looking for. I came for the cake and stayed for the hanging bridge!

Yoooo! Good morning, Ed, August isn’t 90 days away now—ya’all must be excited.

I’m glad you liked this one, these food fight posts have always been a lot of fun, I get to just kinda go off script and make it work, I dig it. Happy Monday to the Privat’s.

Sure is a lot of EOS and Meos talk these days.

Thanks for stopping by, @edprivat.

For now we didn't really set a countdown the priority is to deliver the baby first :)
Happy Monday buddy!

Yeah Meos for real!

Hello @dandays, Happy Friday too, But in Indonesia it's Saturday morning. I see your posts so interesting. There are so many photos that you display so that I feel as if I was there. It seems that you are now in the countryside. I saw beautiful piles of grass for livestock and also many bridges or roads. The food you display is also very delicious. .wow ... really appetizing. Enjoy your day my friend.

You are so kind and nice—I think it’s an Indonesian thing! I always look forward to your comments, thank you for being consistent. Happy Friday Saturday to you, elianaelisma, it’s always a pleasure to hear from you.

I’m glad you think my posts are interesting, coming from someone who speaks multiple languages, such as yourself, I really appreciate that compliment!

You’re right, we are more countryside now, we won’t be back on the coast until Tuesday. It’s gorgeous here, everything is really green but it’s not much of a place to relax—I’m trying to practice the art of relaxing these days. Relax, a few sights, a lot delicious food, a beautiful bride and all of you to share these adventures with—#blessed! 😉

Thanks for stopping by, @elianaelisma. I hope you’re having a great weekend.

Hello my Dan, I am assuming that is your name, lol. I read Pura's exciting post, so I am came to compare notes 🌴😁🌴 And the first thing I see is this heavenly raw vegan cake 🍰 That is so impressive! They actulay have that there. Altough Oreo is not the most healthiest thing in the world, it is vegan and since the rest of the ingredients are super healthy than it's okay. Anyway, I also know you are living in a fancy container next to Canadian neighbours. Most importantly, you are surrounded by the magnificence of mother nature, eating good food. Truly breathtaking shots my Friend. I wish I was there 🌴😊🌴

Has anyone told you lately how great you are at leaving comments? Well, just in case you haven’t heard it lately, “you sure are a good comment leaver!” Buenos dias Bonita seniorita, happy Sunday!

Oh my goodness, that cheesecake was so good. I wasn’t hungry when we went there, we were just going to load Pura Vida up with a shake right quick. She came back to the table and told me what she ordered—I still wasn’t hungry. As soon as the little waitress set it on the table—I was hungry! 😉

You can call me Dan. 👍🏿 I’ve been answering to it since I created this handle—I kinda like it. Wanna hear a story? Pura’s name starts with a D and mine starts with an A, like Arts. I’m a chess player, so I get weird when it comes to thinking ahead. D is for Pura and A is for me so it’s not actually Dan, it’s D and A, get it? With the “ys” at the end, it kinda makes it “Days.” My favorite part is the ‘and’ between D and A, even ‘and’ backward is, again: DNA. D and A’s = Dandays.

Ok, so my intention with that last paragraph was to clear things up not make them more cloudy...

Thanks for stopping by, @lenasveganliving. Happy Sunday!

Thank you so much Dan, but it's easy to leave a god comment on a great content , for people who appreciate it 😉

And what a mysterious name you have wow! Clearly you have very You have very deep connection with Pura, which is truly a blessing. I addition I leaned you are a chess player, how interesting. I never had the chance to learn to play chess but I am quite intrigued by it 😉

Sorry @dandays, you're not getting a long comment today. Both you and @puravidaville have made me so hungry with your FFF posts this week I now need to go feed the beast. That cheesecake definitely takes the cake! Luckily @dksart and I each have one more piece of raw strawberry pie that I made this week to enjoy for our Saturday treat. That's if I don't go eat his piece, too.... but he's lucky it's in the freezer and needs to thaw out so I probably wouldn't be able to finish it before he noticed. 😜

We saw a little green lizard yesterday after going for a walk. I asked my niece what we should name him. Without skipping a beat she said "Pasqual". Then proceeded to correct me when she thought I didn't pronounce it right. I can only imagine what she would come up with to name your monster chameleon. 🤷‍♀️

Well good morning my favorite planker! Pasquale (with an e like that) is an interesting memory. Back when I was around 18-20 I turned records on the weekends. One of the bigger parties on the west coast, that’s been going on this whole 20 years, is called Electric Daisy Carnival ran by a dude named Pasquale.

Eh, that cheesecake was sofa king good! I saw those pictures of your towering strawberries, I’m sure it’ll give that cake a run for its money but I’m not gonna sugar-coat it (too much?), that cheesecake was awesome! Thanks for always supporting us, chef, we’re happy to know ya!

Thanks for stopping by @plantstoplanks. Sunday, chew got goin on?? Some farmers market? A run?

Posted using Partiko iOS

See, she was right, I even spelled it incorrectly. 🤷‍♀️ That looks like quite the festival!

I actually did a pie that I haven't posted yet with the strawberries. Whew, well behind on my food-sharing duties, but what can you do? I still think your cheesecake has mine beat, though.

Hit the market and got in a run yesterday, so today it is laundry, cleaning, and other domestic chores. We'll be out celebrating the mamas next weekend, so kind of happy to hole up and get some stuff done in the casa today. Maybe, just maybe I'll be able to crank out a post today because I did make a pretty jamming salad for dinner last night. 😜

Howdy sir dandays! well I caught this one in time to vote, I'm way behind on all thing steemit because I've been working outside alot. Anyway, what is a one-legged walk? And was that cheescake any good? I've never had non-dairy cheescake. Without dairy it can't be cheescake can it? Why are the tacos green? I like those little soda shops and the chocolate and coffee, those go so well together! Lots of interesting shots that really convey the local atmosphere and scenery.

You and me both, Janton. I’m just now getting to responses from 24 hours ago, I’ve been outside too. Maybe it’s some experimental blockchain phenomenon?? 🤔 Whatever it took to get you here—I’ll take it!

I’m just glad you got to see it, I’m honored every time you stop by, that’s real! Vote or no vote, the fact that you read it (and skim) is valuable. 👍🏿

I have a really bad leg. So, either I can’t make the walk or I can, if I can, it’s a one-legged walk. Ha! That sounds funny to read back but it couldn’t be more accurate, Janton. “Bullseye!”

The cheesecake was actually, yeah, delectable is a wOrd I haven’t used I don’t think, I’ll go with delectable. If you run cashews in a food processor long enough and add some oil, spices, probably a few other things, it actually gets pretty “cheesy.” Give it a shot if you ever have the opportunity, I think you’d be pleasantly surprised.

The green tortillas—good question! I don’t know, Janton, I’m assuming some sort of artificial coloring, your guess is as good as mine.

La Fortuna is a really cool spot, you’re spot on with the atmosphere there. Everything about it was nice. I need to go catch up with Hermann! Last I read, he was 16 years old and they had escaped several reservations.

Thanks for stopping by, @janton.

Howdy sir dandays! hey I thought you were somewhat banged up a little from those long hours and years of work but I didn't know your leg was that bad, I thought it was a bad shoulder or back. What's wrong with your leg?

And what have you been doing outside, riding bikes? It's not a sauna there so you can enjoy the weather right?

I've heard that if you blend up cashews it makes a sort of thick cream like sour cream? I should find a recipe online for vegan cheesecake and make a post about it, I used to do food posts believe it or not. Not at the level of puravida! lol. no way!
Those green tortillas, they just looked like corn that was colored? I figured they had spinach or something in them. I don't know but the chocolate and coffee combo is a great one!

Are you guys still not feeling very good about the country?

Wow! all food you post, mouthwatering!
