Feathered Friday: Everyday Beauty
This is a contribution to #featheredfriday created by @melinda010100
Often we miss to recognise....
...the beauty of something we see every day.
One example could be this female mallard duck. They are rather common, even in cities, where ever there is a pond, lake or river. So we dont pay much attention, most of the time.
Especially the females seem to be unspectacular, just looking brownish from the distance. But if you look closely, you will find that they are extremely pretty and diverse in their plumage.
As this photo shows:

Great shot mate, he is have a good old stretch, cheers.
That is actually a she, who often don't look like much from the distance. Other than the males, who have this metallic shine and different colours.
Thats what I wanted to point out: that also the females have a very interesting plumage if you look closely.
I was lucky with this one, to observe a moment when she was greasing her plumage to make it water proof. Then they spread their feathers and rub their head over them, something they only do when they feel safe.
She is beautiful up close! Great photo... You really captured her beauty nicely!
Frauenpower! ;-) Danke LGG
