The beginning of round 1 in the Mirri v.s Edgar battle started off with Edgar playing a stone quarry land. Mirri responded by playing a plains and casting the first card of the game a Spring Leaf Drum.
The second round started off with Edgar playing a Swamp in order to summon the powerful enchantment Blind Obedience. Mirri was now at a huge disadvantage in round 2. She played a second plains in order to cast Sword of the Animist in hopes of getting her equipment down for her cats.
Edgar then played a plains to cast Sadistic Skymarch the first creature of the game in round 3. With Edgar's eminence he then created the second creature of the game a 1/1 vampire token. Mirri was in big trouble and needed a creature fast. She played her first forest which was just enough to cast herself to the battle.
Edgar needed to make an opening. He played a swamp and cast Doom Blade on Mirri and sent her back to the command zone and was able to draw first blood with extort. His soldiers now could attack freely. The vampires hit hard with 3 points of damage 2 of which were life link. The score was now 44/36 in favour of Edgar and Mirri's board was nearly bare. Even though it was only turn 4 the battle seemed almost hopeless. Mirri played a plains to cast Alms Collector to fend off the ever growing vampire army.
Round 5 started off with Edgar playing a mountain and attacking for 1 regular damage and 2 lifelink. With Blind Obedience effecting her only blocker she had no choice but to take the hit. Now Edgar was leading with the score at 46/36. Mirri played another plains. Now it was time to turn the biggest threat on the board into an opportunity. She cast herself to the field tapped because of Blind Obedience which activated both her abilities. As long as she was tapped only one creature Edgar controlled could block or attack each turn. Alms Collector charged at the vampires knowing even if one of them would block he would survive. Edgar let him though not willing to lose his vampires and took his first 3 points of damage.
Angered by the attack Edgar cast Syphon Mind and forced Mirri to discard a plains from her hand. Edgar then extorted and played a land. He attacked with one vampire for 2 lifelink damage making the score 43/33. Mirri now took the offensive casting Dagger of the Worthy and equipping it to herself alone with Sward of the Animist. She played her plains and attacked Edgar. Only able to defend with one creature because of Mirri's abilities he blocked her with his vampire token and took 1 damage from afflict making it 42/33 in Edgar's favour.
Edgar still in a comfortable lead plays a swamp and then cast Malakir Bloodwitch. Edgar then made another vampire token. Edgar continued his attack on Mirri and hit her for 2 points of life link damage. With the score at 44/31 for Edgar Mirri knew she wouldn't win with damage alone. Luckily for her that was never her intention. Mirri played her plains and cast Prowler's Helm. She then equipped it to herself and attacked Edgar for 6. With the Prowler's Helm ability of walls being the only thing able to block her she slipped by the vampires and hit Edgar for 6 points of commander damage. Sword of the Animist ability triggered. She searched out a forest and placed it on the battle flied tapped.
With the score sitting at 38/31 for Edgar it still looked as though he'd win but he'd have to deal more damage to Mirri. With 6 commander damage he needed to win and fast. He casts Gratuitous Violence and extorts. Edgar uses Malakir to attack Mirri but Mirri was able to counter with Commencement of Festivities. Mirri was finally starting to gain ground with the score at 38/30 she knew she could pull off a victory. Mirri played a forest. She attached the Prowler's Helm to Alms Collector and attacked with both cats. Mirri was blocked by a vampire token and Mirri destroyed the token and deals 1 afflict damage to Edgar. The Alms Collector sneaks through and hits Edgar with 3 more points of damage.
The score was now 34/30 Edgar saw his huge lead fading before his eyes. He was desperate to dispose of Mirri quickly. He played the land Foresaken Sanctuary and cast Gleam of Battle then extorted 1. Malakir gained a +1/+1 on attack and hit mirri for 10 points of liflink damage because of Gratuitous Violence doubling the damage. The score was now 44/19. Mirri played a forest. She knew now that winning the old fashion way was impossible her only hope was to deal at least 15 more points of commander damage. She reattached the Prowler's Helm to herself and hit Edgar for 6 more Commander damage bringing it up to 12 in total.
Edgar was on the verge of victory as he played a plains. He cast Hedron Archive and Butcher of Malakir. He then attacked for 12 life link damage by adding another +1/+1 to Blood Witch bringing to score to 56/7. Mirri played a forest. Staring defeat in the eyes she knew the end was near until she drew her miracle a Spider Silk Net. She cast it and equipped it to Alms Collector. She hit Edger with 6 more commander damage bringing it up to 18.
Round 11 began with the score 50/7 for Edgar but he needed an answer for Mirri this turn. He sacrificed his Hedron Archive and drew only one card thanks to Alms Collectors ability. Mirri then drew her card. Edgar played his swamp and attacked for 16 points of damage. Alms Collector blocked sacrificing himself to keep Mirri alive. Mirri played a plains and attached the Spider Silk Net to herself. She cast Jedit Ojanen of Efrava and attacked. She slipped past all of Edgar's vampires and delivered the final blow to the Vampire king. With the 6 points of commander damage Mirri and her cats had won the day. Now Edgar waits patiently for the second round and his revenge.
