in #familyprotection6 years ago

Palu residents still need a helping hand to be assisted and reunited with separate family members. This time HaiBunda raised the story of a couple from Palu who had parted ways with their children when the earthquake and tsunami occurred.

A mother of two children, Emi recounts her sweet story through social media. A lot of sympathy was made to Emi, more than 9,000 positive comments and prayers for her family. When the event happened, Emi and her family were outside the house and watching a Palu Nomoni program.

"Today is exactly 21 days after the earthquake, tsunami and liquefaction incident that struck the city of Palu, Friday, September 28, 2018. That day we and our family were on the bridge of the Nomoni Palu event. It was held in the afternoon, the atmosphere was so crowded. the atmosphere changes, "Emi wrote.

Emi continued, the visitors, business people, sellers, and all the people on the bridge ran scattered, screaming and panicking. His second child, Zoya is being carried by his brother, Zaki who is sitting under a tree. Even the two children did not panic, cry, and speak out.

"My husband and I did not see that the bridge collapsed under the sea. We thought it was just an ordinary earthquake. My husband said 'sit down, sit', so Zaki and I sat holding the ground and my son Zoya at that time was carried by my husband, "Emi continued.

As soon as Emi looked behind her husband, it turned out that sea water was right behind him. Emi panicked and pulled her husband's hand while shouting. They ran screaming. Emi and family can only run to the front of the cellphone shop, just behind the bridge.

"And there was a car parked right in front of the shop, we could only take refuge right next to the car and the sea hit us. Zaki immediately fell down and his thigh was run over by the car tire. I saw him crying and reaching out for my help." "Help me!" I cried because I saw her eyes swollen, "Emi said.
Then, Emi asked her husband for help to find a position to be able to pull Zaki. They themselves were sandwiched between the car and the iron in front of the shop. Not yet had her husband pulled Zaki. Sea water rose again, Emi, her husband, and Zoya took positions and held hands while closing their eyes.

"The sea water hit hard. We fell into the shop and Zaki left in front of the shop where he fell. At that time in my mind, this was our last day, this is where death will pick us up. the second took us to the bank right behind the TVRI Palu office, "he continued.

When he opened his eyes, his youngest child Zoya was released from the arms of the husband. Emi and her husband claimed to be very weak because there were no children beside them. The two of them ran away while holding hands and crying for the names of their two children.

"My husband and I walked to escape to the mayor without children. We cried and continued to pray. Arriving at the mayor's field, we met a woman and took the time to pray. We kept crying for the names of our children. , I heard that there was a shout from Zaki calling 'Mama', said Emi.

Shortly afterwards Emi met her friend, Lili. According to Lili, Zaki was in a public hospital. Suddenly, Emi was shocked and couldn't believe that her child was still alive. They went to the hospital and right, Zaki was treated there. His whole body was full of wounds and moaned in pain.

"I pleaded again with God asking to be met with my child, Zoya. The day was getting late and it seemed so long waiting for the sun to rise. That night I returned to praying and praying," continued Emi.

Exactly at 6:00 a.m. the neighboring Emi child on the platform came to the hospital. He came to pick up his mother who was also being treated. He saw Emi and said that Zoya was with his father.

"I shouted to the husband who was just asleep at the time. The husband immediately asked the child to Zoya. They went to where Zoya was evacuating. There was no end to my gratitude. God is good, great. Finally the four of us reunited. This is the story My little family survived the tsunami. My son broke his left thigh bone and my daughter ripped the cheeks with eight stitches, "Emi closed.

Goose bumps and moved, Bun after listening to the story of Mother Emi. We pray, hopefully the family is healthy always. Indeed, when children were separated from their parents after the disaster, a child psychologist, Dr Seto Mulyadi, said many children were traumatized. This is because of the loss of home, friends, even his parents. Child trauma recovery does not only require an important contribution of volunteers but all relevant stakeholders. All communities must care about the conditions of the children of the disaster victims.

"So we also emphasize that protecting children or accompanying children needs people from the same village. So it's not just their parents. Maybe someone has lost a parent. Maybe the mother is still stressed because her husband died and so on. "I have to care. So if that is the case, the child is our child together," explained the child psychologist who is familiarly called Sis Seto.
