This is my little niece, Lorena. She rides on a strange being, half man, half horse. Centaurus is what scientists call that rare animal. She calls her centaur Daddy, although sometimes she also calls him Javier Arturo. On her centaur she advances on the plains and over the mountains. Above it she passes through the green fields of the earth and through the blue prairies of the sky.

One day she was riding on her centaur and thought of rising to the sky because a big yellow flower caught her eye. She said it: "Let´s go!" And then, they rode and rode, they flew and flew, and at last she reached the dazzling flower. But,, wow, when she tried to grab the flower, it was so hot it burned her little finger. The centaur blew and blew and the little finger healed. And then the centaur blew and blew and the golden flower cooled. So Lorena could take the flower to sow it on all the mountains....

And then, How did the days light up if the flower of the sun no longer hung over the sky?, you may ask yourself.... It was very easy: The days were lit up with Lorena's smile.

I made these photos during a family outing as we walked through the mountains of the zone known as Las Aguaditas, located south of the small town of Carrizal, located in the state of Miranda, Venezuela, where I live.
