RALLY CALLED TO CONDEMN PERSECUTION OF FALUN GONG IN CHINA

in #falun8 years ago

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Over a thousand Falun Gong practitioners and supporters will gather in the nation’s capital, July 14, to condemn China’s persecution of Falun Gong.
Since July 1999, Falun Gong practitioners in China have been subject to systematic arrests, imprisonment, and torture. More shockingly, accumulating evidence has revealed that the Chinese Communist regime has been pillaging organs from Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience for its lucrative organ-transplant enterprise.

A recent investigative, data-driven report, 679 pages, titled, Bloody Harvest / The Slaughter: An Update, by David Kilgour, Ethan Gutmann, and David Matas, has provided still more evidence of the organ pillaging practice in China. The report estimates that since 2000, the number of China’s organ transplants is between 60,000 and 100,000 per year, mostly from Falun Gong practitioners. This means that the annual number of 10,000, which communist China had been reporting to media has been a lie, and has served as a cover-up for mass human atrocities. The full report is available at http://EndOrganPillaging.org.

This report is released on the heels of the unanimous House passage of H.Res.343 on June 13, which condemns organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience in China.

Now in its 17th year, this annual gathering began when the Chinese Communist Party launched a campaign to “eradicate” Falun Gong, a peaceful meditation practice, in 1999. The rally at the U.S. Capitol has become one of the longest-running annual demonstrations at the nation’s capital. Members of Congress and supporters from human rights and faith organizations will again speak at the rally. The group will march to the Lincoln Memorial following the rally, and hold a candlelight vigil there in the evening. More details are at: http://falundafa-dc.org.
