What speak your Facebook posts about your personality?
A new study finds that people who regularly post in the Facebook profile publications about exercise, diet and performance is more likely to be narcissists.
In addition, it was found that boasting of accomplishments really attracts more attention from friends in the social network.
"Although our results show that boasting a narcissist pays off with more likes and comments to updates their status remains likelihood their Facebook friends kindly offered their support while secretly dislike these selfish appearances," explains lead scientist of the study Dr. Tara Marshall.
«More information about how real-accepted status updates of Facebook friends can help people avoid topics that more irritating than to have fun," she said.
The study also found that people who post updates about their current romantic partner is more likely to have low self-esteem.
People who are more conscious and responsible post more updates about their children instead of partners.
Here are a few associations between the use of Facebook and the personality of the person:
"... extroverted people publish more posts to their social activities and daily life, which is motivated by their use of Facebook for communication and connection with others."
"People who are open, are more likely to publish on intellectual topics that meet their goal to use Facebook to share information."
The study has examined data from 555 users of the social network Facebook.
