Exploration-s23w1 /Knots.

Hello everyone I hope you are all doing well. I am excited to share my entry for this week Steemit Learning Challenge it is because the topic is closely related to my daily life. Let me tell you how?

I am Pathan from Peshawar and as you may know that every Pathan wears shalwar kameez. In shalwars we use a "nahra" (drawstring) to keep them in place and tying knots is essential part of this. The most commonly used knot for this is the square knot (flat knot) because it hold firmly and is easy to untie when need.

and here the same type of knot we use for the shalwar is also commonly used when tying our shoelaces in daily life. This challenge feels very familiar to me let me complte my assignment task now.

Have you ever tied knots?

Yes I tie knot every day part of my daily routine. In fact I tie knot a multiple times a day without even thinking about it tel me tell you how?

Being a Pathan I wear shalwar kameez and in shalwars we use a nahra to keep them in place . every time when I prepare for Namaz (prayer) I need to untie the knot perform ablution (wudu) and then tie it again. since I pray five times a day this proces is repeated several time.

Apart from that I also untie and retie the nahra whenever needed such as for urination or other necessities. so tying knots has become second nature to me and I hardly even notice how often I do it

On a string place its parts

from the lecture i learn the 5 part of the rop i am explanaing it below

The Flat Curl or Plain Knot is the simplest knot that i use in daily life It is make by taking two end of an rope crosing tham over each other & puling them tight. This knot is mostly using for small tasks like tying two rope together but it can became loose if not tied proparly.

The Figure 8 Knat looks like the numbar "8" when tied. It is strong knot that do not slip easily which makes it great for climbing and securing rope. To making it I take the rope make a loop twist it once and then pass the end through the loop. This make a strong stopper at the end of the rope.

Everyday Uses of Knots

In my daily life I am use different type of knot for various purposes. For example

Flat Curl or Plain Knot:

I use this knot to Secure my shalwar nahra so it stays in place throughout the day.

Figure 8 Knot:

This knot is useful for creating a strong stopper at the end of rope preventing it from slipping through small opening

Ballestrinque (Clove Hitch):

I can use this knot to tie object securely like when bundling things together or tying Something to a pole

Ace of Guide (Bowline Knot):

This knot help when I need a secure loop that wo not slip like tying a rope to an object or securing something heavy.

Margaret Knot:

This can be use for decorative purposes or when I need a strong knot for holding things in place

Easier and Harder Knots: My Experience

From my experience the easiest knot to tie was the Flat Curl (Plain Knot) bacause it is simple and quick to make. It Only requires crossing the end & puling them tight Which I do daily While tying my Shalwar Nahra

The hardest knot for me Was the Ace of Guide (Bowline Knot) because it requires specific technique to create secure loop that does not slip. It tooks me several attempt to get it right as the movements need to be precises.

Mistakes When Tying Knots and How to Avoid Them

Yes I have made mistake while tying knot especially When learning new one. Some time the knot come lose or i tie it incorectly making it dificult to untie laters

Common Mistakes and How to Avoid Them:

  1. Not Tightening Properly – If the knot are not puled tight it come undone easily. Always make sure to secure the knot by puling both ends firmly.
  2. Wrong Technique – Some knots require specific loops and crossings. To avoid mistake I practice step by step and follow guides carefuly.
  3. Using the Wrong Knot – Not all knot are suitable for every purpose. Learning which knot work best for each situation helps avoid weak or unstable ties.
  4. Twisting the Rope Incorrectly – If the rope is twisted the wrong way the knot may not hold. paying attention to the direction of loops helps in tying it correctly.

With practice I have improving my knot tying skills and made fewer mistake
