Mission Accepted // Short Day // Getting the Miles Under the Belt.

Today is probably gonna be a small amount of clusterfuck. Wait, scratch that, it’s not gonna be a clusterfuck at all. I’m just probably putting it out there just in case it is. I’m doing something in a different way that’s all so I guess I’m just building in support for the potential for things to not go as I had planned — although I’m not sure why I’d do that when the plan I have is pretty solid and it’s something I’ve done before.

Ugh.

Why do we do that as humans, put expectations on something before we have even stepped through it? Maybe I’m just trying to foster a positive mental attitude towards it before I get the miles in, yep, I’m getting a bit of a long hike in today, I’m guessing it’s gonna end up being somewhere in the order of about 8/10 miles — not a lot but still. .. kinda, especially when I’ve been on my ass all week.

I’m not being forced to do it, I just want to do it. I know I should be moving my ass more and I’m trying to build myself up to actually doing it. I’ve even considered a route that I can do each day to get at least 5/10k steps in a day, hey, I should totally do the @actifit stuff again right? Forgot about that until just — seriously thou, I need that movement energy. As the weather starts to change I feel like monday is the day to action this fully.

cheese, spinach & coffee STAT!

Literally just checked my little list of things I gotta pick up today, just some cheese to go with the crackers, some spinach so I can make a lovely big bowl of lentils up, think I might record/document that for ep2 of something I’m working on about the instant pot today — times like this I wish I had a better mobile camera for that but I’ll still get it done with what I have! :)

The multiple little micro tasks and chores we go through in the morning, checking time, checking weather, checking food intake, water levels, packing bags, checking connectivity, all these little micro actions before we prepare ourselves for what’s to come. Part of being this blessed human machine we got the opportunity to use on a daily basis! Gotta keep this thing fuelled up and ready to rock.

Don’t get me wrong here I’ve given myself the time and set myself up for success on this little hike, fuelled up on the fibre food, ‘dropped the kids off at the pool’ got plenty of water in me and I’m feeling awake and ready to go, also taking into account that chances are by the time I arrive the temperature will have gone up five degrees and I’ll be needing to take off some clothes because of the heat (in fact, fuck it, taking them off now) — I know I’ll regret wearing them after I’ve walked for the first twenty minutes anyway and I’ve checked the weather for the rest of the day — just HOT.

in regards to quick turnarounds

I’m gonna wanna be hitting those calorie rich chicken sandwiches anyway once I’ve done my walk today and hopefully we have enough time to get that in and get back before the time, I would be tempted to walk that off but I think with the heat at that time I think it’s a mistake to try, this morning thou, I’m kinda down for — gotta get the body up to my minds tempo!

Alright, getting ready for setting off shortly, I’ll try and take some pictures and add them in along the way (hopefully!) depends how I get on, I do like the relative quiet of the walk and even thou it seems like a long time it’s really not once you get going, something very calming about walking that I really enjoy and it’s not like I’ve not done a lot of it in the past.

P.S - i got my spinach, the lentils stick to the ribs and are an absolute delight! :)
