Indeed. We're living in society where anything older than few days is just ... way to old to pay attention.
It may be possible to build front-end as you described, however it's already to late to change Steemit users mindset.

Evergreen content is content that keeps generating income perpetually.
If Steem pans out, a tiny fraction of future Steem users are even aware that the platform exists at this time. There is no Steem users’ mentality set in stone.
