Here are the details of the sale.

“Welcome new joiners!

If you enquire about the pre-sale, unfortunately it is full and closed to new participants. Please do not be discouraged and participate in the main crowdsale that will start on June 21 at 9am EDT at tokensale.civic.com. Here is the link to Vinny’s blog post outlining how it will work:

We will publish a detailed FAQ closer to the date but in the meantime here is a quick list of items you will need:

  1. Download and register on the Civic app. The app is available for global registration and not just the US. You do NOT need Civic website registration. At the moment Android app is not available, but will be released later this week or on Monday June 19th

  2. BTC and ETH to make a payment. Note – it will NOT be possible to send ETH from exchanges and sending BTC from exchanges is not recommended. For both BTC and ETH you will need to know your refund address as well, which is your receiving address

  3. Your fully ERC20-compatible wallet. You will need to be able to provide your token receiving address of that wallet. Some of such wallets include:

– MyEtherWallet (no download needed)
– Mist (Desktop)
– Parity (Desktop)
– imToken (iPhone)
– imToken (Android)
– Jaxx (Integrated Support Coming Soon)”

Vinny Lingham

This post is going to be geared towards those who aren't familiar with this name.

If you knew who Vinny was, you wouldn't need to be convinced to jump at the opportunity to obtain some Civic coins.

He founded Gyft, a digital giftcard platform which he sold in 2014. Since then he has been focused on finding a universal solution to tackle identity fraud for consumers.

What better place than the blockchain!

This flowchart is from a very good article on the civic ico (https://crushcrypto.com/cvc-ico/).

The combination of Vinny's entrepreneurial background and expertise in the crypto-space gets me excited about civic right off the bat. Looking deeper into it I can't help but get giddy at the chance to be a part of it. Vinny has a vision of eventually having the entire United States voting in elections through the blockchain, through civic!

Even without taking the voting issue into consideration, civic is primed to come in and warp the identity protection game.

How nice will it be to enter all of your information (Email, Birthday, SSN, Name, Etc) to Civic, and NEVER have to enter it anywhere again???

Civic will totally change the game. Never have to wait to be verified, and these sites will not have to expend the resources to go thru this process. Just agree to partner with civic and voila; one scan of a code will confirm a new users identity!

I can't wait for 9am Wednesday. I just got my ETH transferred to an ERC-20 compatible wallet and i will be ready to type that civic receivable address as fast as i can in the hopes that I don't miss out!

Oh yeah, did I mention Vinny is giving everybody a chance in this ICO? He has done everything he can come up with to make sure as many who want to participate can. For starters, he has capped the amount of tokens an individual can buy at 25k USD worth.

"Fair" and "ICO" are not two terms that have been going together very often, but I am ecstatic to see what Vinny and his team are going to accomplish Wednesday and i imagine it will set the standard for all ICO's of the future.

My plan is to buy 5 eth worth of civic coins with the intention of holding long term.

So get that ether wallet ready, and together we can take a ride on CVC tokens all the way to the moon!!!

So it basically takes over from Google Authenticator?

Sort of... I think the idea is much bigger than that though. Google Authenticator is just a 2FA, or 2 step authorization system. Civic is going to basically be a store of all of your information (on the blockchain though, Civic won't actually have access to any of your information). And it will mean that you won't even need passwords on accounts eventually (You can just scan your civic code, and it will update the website with all of the relevant information needed proving that it is in fact, you)
