Does Coinbase Pick Winners?

in #ethereum8 years ago

Hi,

I'm Rodney. I'm fairly new to the world of blockchain. And I have a serious question. Is it me or does it seem like Coinbase picks up winners only?
I don't know if it is only me or do I represent a large portion of investors that really appreciate the level of comfort that Coinbase offers when it comes to buying crypto?
I am very interested in what a lot of knowledgeable crypto veterans think. I wish I had the knowledge to get in ripple a month ago but I don't like the idea of trading my bitcoin or ether. I'm the type of person that once I buy it, it's mines!
I would love to see an app like Coinbase that allows you to buy Ripple, manero or dash via debit and bank account.
As newbie to the crypto world my strategy is to accumulate then transfer to a hard wallet. Once I accumulate anything over $1,000 it goes in my hard wallet never to be seen again. It's mines and I'm not trading it?
What say you?
Share your input. Educate a brother. I'm always eager to learn. IMG_5014.PNGIMG_5016.JPG

Make sense for them to add more currencies on a business standpoint, but their site already overloaded with current traffic. I dont think they are ready yet

It's funny because just before I got back on here (talking about steemit) I got a mobile notification from Coinbase saying the server is down. I agree with you I don't think they can handle anymore altcoins. I would like to see another company to give Coinbase some friendly rivalry. Maybe that will keep fees at a low cost.

gemini doing good under heavy traffic atm. maybe they can go for it. But altcoin also involve lots market manipulation. i think one of reason coinbase or gemini doesnt add altcoin on their site is that they wanna to become "Legit" exchange. Thats why they really wanna to get more operating license and ETF stuff in the US.

That makes so much sense. I hear a lot of people make claims that eventually Coinbase will share info with the IRS. That would explain them wanting ETFs and to be more legit.

ye, no matter how bitcoin is. coinbase is a us company and have to follow the local law. might as well be the first in the industry to be legalized and recognized. Get the most customers and profit

What exchange server would you recommend for getting into other altcoins?
In thinking about getting my feet wet with other crypto.

for everyday trading use poloniex and bittrex
for holding and no registering, shapeshifter

it also depends where u come from, there are more local exchange
