Unexpectedly, this pandanus tree is a sign of the existence of diamonds
Pandanus is usually used as an additional flavoring or food coloring in homes. However, this one pandanus tree is somewhat special, because of its existence into a diamond mark is stored underneath.
Pandanus candelabrum, a rare pandanus species of African origin by scientists at the University of Miami, America, is said to grow only on the ground in which stored diamonds. In fact, initially this pandan was never glimpsed because it is considered as a regular desert plant.
Keep in mind, diamond is a type of precious rock that formed deep in the soil. New diamonds will rise to the surface after being driven by volcanic activity of the volcano.
Then, the diamonds will be collected in underground pipes called kimberlite. The name of the kimberlite is taken from the area of the first diamond pipe, Kimberley, South Africa.
Well, the pandanus species of Pandanus candelabrum recently claimed to grow only on the ground just above the kimberlite pipes. No doubt, the rare pandanus snatches the title of the first plant that became a sign of the existence of diamonds.
"Diamond hunters will surely be racing to find these rare pandanus like crazy," said one geologist at the University of Miami, Gizmodo (06/05).
However, finding Pandanus P. candelabrum is not easy. Because, this rare pandanus usually grow hidden in the middle of the bush of the African wilderness.
