Yesterday was 4 November. Our Constitution Day Like every year, it came as it was, almost always remained silent. Extremely forgotten, stately neglected this one day. On this day of 1972, the first constitution of the independent Bangladesh was officially accepted in the parliament. After all, we all have forgotten about the day, we do not remember to celebrate this day by state!

Freedom struggle, so much sacrifice, so much bloodshed - that is to get the document 'constitution', to get it. Through the document that we aspire to establish our own rule as a free community on our own border. This document reflects the right to self-determination.

The significance of this day is no less than any other day than the celebration. Rather, in my opinion, the significance of this day is probably more than the other celebrated days of our state. Because, the true celebration of this day - can remind us every year, the most important words to be kept in the body of this constitution. Where there are many other things to say:

  • The struggle for freedom, and the historic sacrifice of our people on the path to achieve it.
  • The basic rights of the people of this land
  • The words and dreams of our state that should be guided or fundamental.
  • Those who will rule from power in different parts of the country, their responsibility and accountability.
  • What will we present ourselves on the basis of the principles of the world?
  • Our past, our country of tradition, and the collective collective attitude of all of us.

The most important thing is that - this constitution is the document where it is clearly said that the sovereignty of the people is said. Where it has been declared - this Constitution is 'the expression of the people's intention' [Article 7 (2)]. It is said - 'the owners of all the powers of this Republic are the people' It is said - Only this people will have the effect of the implementation of all the powers and authority of this Constitution [Article 7 (1)].

We forget these words, or they are forgotten. And taking the opportunity to forget this, those who take the opportunity to get it.

That is why celebrating the day is important at all levels. If the state or the ruling party does not celebrate this day officially, we should at least have it. Because this is our day. We mean people.
