On this occasion I would like to tell you a little of my experience of my visit to the historic place in Gayo land that is the city of takengon where I visited this is the most historic place in gayo land of Putri Pukes.

According to the story of the people of the region here there was once a beautiful daughter of a son of a king named Princess Pukes. This beautiful princess loves a prince who comes from another kingdom. Initially, both parents of princess Pukes did not bless her, because the origin of this prince who resides away from the residence of the princess. However, thanks to the persistence of princess pukes and the prince, finally the parents of this princess pukes bless the relationship of both until in the end they both married by the king.

After marriage, then the time comes for the princess after her husband. Princess Pukes also said goodbye to her parents to go to the kingdom of her husband. Of course, both parents of the princess was seized with sadness, but they have to let go of his son.

"Go, son, with the guards. However, one thing you must guard, once stepping out of this kingdom, do not even look back ", the message of his parents.

Princess Pukes went with her guards. Along the way, he always thought of his parents and missed them so much. Because he was too sad, he accidentally looked back.
Suddenly, there was lightning bolt and a very heavy rain. Princess Pukes and her entourage take shelter in a cave. Inside the cave, Princess Pukes stood in the corner of the cave to warm her cold body. Slowly, the princess felt her body harden. Princess Pukes was shocked and cried. Apparently his body became a rock. He was sorry for not heeding the message of his parents. She should not look back during the trip as her parents ordered.

After feeling long enough to rest and the rain began to subside, they intend to continue the journey. The guards also called the Princess. "Princess ! The rain has subsided, let's move on! "Called the guards. Many times they called, but still no answer.

The guards of the princess went to the place where Princess Pukes stood up. They kept calling, but the Princess was silent. On seeing clearly, the guards were shocked that Pukes' daughter's body had hardened and became a rock.

Until now, Princess Pukes stones can still be seen. The shape is enlarged at the bottom, but the bun and head of the Princess are still recognizable. According to local beliefs, the stone is enlarged below because Princess Pukes continues to cry which causes her tears to accumulate beneath.

Meanwhile, due to the very heavy rain, the lake formed in the region. Residents around called the lake with the name "Lake Laut Tawar".
