The character of people is not measured so much by their wisdom, or by their religious commitment, but, rather, by their willingness to help the poor and the needy. It is not what you have that identifies you, but what you give to your neighbor. Your sensitivity to the poor and your concrete acts in their favor will have more value for God, than any other pious act that you do.
