1. Brief Introduction
To the Moon is an EOS-based city-building mobile game which follows the basic features of legendary tycoon games like SimCity Buildit, Township and Rollercoaster Tycoon. On top of the features of city-building games, we harnessed some of blockchain capabilities: coin transfers and transparent data-recording. All the actions and transactions in the game are recorded on the EOS nodes and with the help of the market and lucky draw system, you get a chance to earn some EOS.
2. Game Design
(1) Levels
It’s relatively simple to level up. The higher your city’s population, the higher the level. To increase the population, you should build residential buildings. When your city levels up, you will be able to produce more types of resources, build higher buildings and get rarer buildings by lucky draw. However, as you level up, you have to deal with more challenges.
(2) Challenges
City Demands
Various city demands arise as you increase the population of your city. Seven categories of demands — health, security, fire, park, entertainment, education, and landmark — must be taken care of if you want to build more residential buildings. You can check which category needs your attention in the ‘City Guide’. Just type the ‘Guide’ button at the top left corner.
Land
The more you build, the less idle land you can build on remains. When you feel you need to free up some ground, consider selling a few of your buildings on the ‘Market’. You can also just trash them. Beware, each building has its own value. If you trash out high population building, your level might go down. The best practice is to get rid of the less valuable buildings first.Storage
The resources you produce to earn coins are stored in the city storage. The initial capacity of the storage is set to 40, hence you might end up not being able to produce more. To avoid this, produce only the necessary amount of products at a time. If you inevitably need to free up some space the storage, you can select the products and trash them. This feature, however, requires coins, so be careful not to produce too much.
(3) Lucky Draw
With some luck, you can collect valuable buildings via lucky draw. You can draw dice after you reach the level eight. The buildings obtained through the lucky draw are basically as twice valuable as the regular buildings. This means that you can replace two ordinary buildings with one lucky building, and save up some good land space! However, the lucky buildings are pretty hard to draw since their winning probabilities are usually less than 1%. To compensate the blank draws, you’ll be rewarded with up to three free cash units (on average, you’ll get one cash unit per blank).
Among the lucky draws, the rocket is ultimately the best. The rocket is amazingly special because if you have it you can get EOS rewards! Our game deposits 10% of the game’s cash income onto the rocket; each of the rocket owning players will be able to claim the accumulated EOS deposit — just like a jackpot. Even after you get the rocket from the lucky draw, you can wait as long as you want before you claim. Don’t wait for too long though. If somebody else claims first, the accumulated rocket EOS will start from zero again, so be careful! Also, the rocket is not reusable. Once you launch the rocket to claim deposit, it will fly to the Moon and be gone leaving you luckily with a large amount of EOS!
(4) Market
You can trade buildings with players worldwide through our market system. If you want something specific, you can buy one with EOS, or sell some of your precious ones at prices between 0.1 EOS to 9999 EOS. The market fee is 10%. For instance, if you sell your Trump Tower at 10 EOS, a buyer should pay 10 EOS, and you’ll get 9 EOS after deducting the fee, 1 EOS.
4. FAQ
Q. Why do I have to pay 0.99 EOS to join the game?
A. We confirmed that a user spends 12.288kib when he goes up to level 15. Assuming that each user needs 15kib, 1.71 EOS is required for each user to record their transaction data (EOS-RAM price). Considering the size of our budget as a small team, we cannot help but alleviating the operation cost by charging the signing fee.
Q. Can I earn EOS while playing the game?
A. If you get a rocket, you can receive EOS! We put 10% of our game’s income to the rocket. Just like a jackpot system, users can claim deposit EOS when they get the rocket. However, rockets are not reusable. Once you claim the EOS deposit by launching the rocket, it flies to the moon and does not return!
Q. How much is the market trade fee?
A. The market fee is 10%. For instance, if you sell your Trump Tower at 10 EOS, a buyer should pay 10 EOS, and you’ll get 9 EOS after deducting the fee, 1 EOS.
