User Kyle replies to User Jem who said ‘Did you consider the situation that non-B1 whales might be newly incentivized to concentrate their votes to a very small number of BPs? How might this affect pay distribution and cliffs in a no limit environment?’ User Kyle said it depends on what alternatives are offered. It would take a bunch of whales joining forces to be able to push themselves or their friends into the top 21 if B1 were to not vote for them. ‘Sure it could happen, but if REX can deliver a decent yield then there may be safer alternatives for them to earn an income from their tokens. Evening out BP pay in such a way + an Active REX market could perhaps make block production a less attractive option for colluding whales.’

Ricardian contract

User Sun Tzu: ‘While that may be a good endpoint, we likely can't push it as a full design. I would suggest that we start small and slow - and identify people who can act as auditors of contracts informally. And allow them to develop the conditions to further the market.’ User Achilles quite agrees with that no push, but free choice.

Law

User Chris Pelling asks: ‘Can’t we just make it a best practice for the dApps to specify the law jurisdiction in their Ricardian contracts? This way there wouldn’t need to be a single country’s law for the whole chain.’
User Justin Buck: ‘EOS Amsterdam withdrew the choice of law section of their charter. For now, it looks like ECAF + ECAF competitors (and I guess Maxims of Equity if you count interim C). No named terrestrial jurisdictions.’
User Jetse Sprey (EOS - Amsterdam): ‘They always could. We wouldn't want to put limits to the freedom to realize one's desired legal relationship. Please note that a lot of legal relationships are not governed by contract. The thief is not bound by a contract between him and his victim. Therefore the default Charter applies. The arbitrator ruling over the theft will have to rule using the charter and the applicable law that determines that theft is actually theft. There is no choice of law here that determines the applicable law.’
