Prepare for $5 Steem and for EOS

in #eos8 years ago (edited)

It's better to be prepared and $5 Steem will be possible over the next few days to weeks

Steem and Bitshares are already on a massive rise. This massive rise is partly due to anticipation from what EOS will offer but also as a result of massive amounts of money coming into the crypto space. Steem is critical for the adoption phase of the crypto community. As far as I know, Steemit is the only way that ordinary people can acquire cryptocurrency without having to buy it, but by earning it. You don't have to be a programmer, you don't have to be a scientist, all you have to do is blog your ass off and upload quality content. Additionally Steem will someday soon support video, because the technology to make this possible will be enabled possibly by EOS. I also hope that EOS provides for Oracles or the equivalent to connect Steemit users to Bitshares, but also to Ethereum and any other network as necessary for specific services, and in situations where porting over to EOS is possible it might be a good idea to simply ask developers to port their smart contracts over. It is common in software that cross platform support is ideal for the user.

What is EOS?

The running rumor is that EOS stands for "Ethereum on Steem". Of course we cannot know for certain what EOS stands for but if it has anything at all to do with Steem this this connection to Steem will drive both EOS and Steem to high prices. In addition it would provide a giant advantage over Ethereum because Steem is for ordinary people while Ethereum for the most part works great for developers, hackers, and people really into this stuff, but it's not something the average Youtuber can figure out how to earn and acquire. Steem is the only mainstream focused crypto technology and platform, while Ethereum, Bitcoin, and all others, are supposed to be working on social network tech like Synereo, or Yours (now on Litecoin), but none of these have the technology anywhere near where Steemit is, or the performance capability of Graphene. EOS only has to be moderately successful and functional for Steem to truly reach a market cap in the billions. A market cap which would actually be justifiable, not a bubble, based on transaction volume, content production, all which can be tracked transparently.

I do see some problems which will come with this excessive transparency. The accounts which are modest today could be worth millions later this year. This lack of privacy will likely have many negative security implications as the price rises and it's something Ethereum developers should consider changing. Also, if there is support for Oracles then perhaps Steem could connect to smart contracts on other platforms to increase utility (Golem, iExec), but preferably we need to reach the stage of cross platform compatibility. In software it is well known that it is best for users to have cross platform support and for an app to truly take over the world it has to work on any platform and not just be on one platform.

Thanks @dana-edwards, I am one of those "normal" users that don't know anything about coding, and your post is very understandable for me, I am hoping the $5.00 becomes a reality, for me, living in South Africa, my account is already worth a lot of money, and can make a real difference to me in the future.

Hi @rynow,
It's because of people like you that I want to see Steemit become successful. I see so many moms that have a hard time finding employment while raising children, it is a full-time job in itself and a commendable one. I am grateful that growing up my mom chose to be a stay at home mom for the most part. She could have worked but we would have missed out on some of the amazing experience. If she would have had an experience it would have been a game changer, earning a little extra money to travel and see grandchildren across the country.
Best,

Thank you very much @isaac.rodebush for the nice comment, just one small correction, I am the guy in the back of my profile picture, and my wife is in front.

haha Just to clarify I am the guy in my picture as well. As least we both have are women beside us at the end of the day!

Yes that is very true!!

$5 STEEM prices would be 500% growth WOW!
Good times!
Isaac

Definitely good times!!

My thinking process is the same. Once EOS launches, I think that BTS and Steem will rally hard and possibly find a new higher trading trend.

  • don't forget Golos ;-)

I think the OS is Operating System.
Then added E to make it cool :D

My whole life I've been interested in casual community building. It took me a long time to find the words to describe exactly what was.

After finally conceptualizing what I want to do with my life, I thought of tons of ways to go about doing it, but being able to live abundantly or even surviving while fully focused on these pursuits was daunting, to say the least.

I want to be the Johnny Appleseed of pay-what-you-want and community spaces. I want to play music and share stories without trying to "sell myself" or "make a deal with the devil". I want to introduce all the wonderful people I meet to each other and usher peaceful conversations between people who had previously shrugged each other off, allowing them to find ways to start appreciating each other.

I hope that steemit will be the piece that brings everything together and provides a balance between stability and freedom while I focus all of my energy on what I love doing.

I love it because I do a lot of those things while writing and connecting on here and as far as I know I am not making money for any corporate overlords in the process.

I should have made this it's own post. I think I will.

Resteeming your post by the way.

EOS will speed up the already speedy graphene based BTS and Steem by allowing multiple core processing, if I read the Telegram channel correctly. All will soon be revealed! Almost time for Consensus 2017! I am totally ready for $5 steem. Bring on the millions. :D Thanks for this thoughtful and hopeful post, and have a great weekend!

Processing of what? Transactions?

Dan was talking on Telegram about 2 parts of blockchain interaction. One part had to be set up serially, and then the other part could be processed in parallel with other similar processes. I wish I remembered it better than that! I think the bottom line is that EOS provides the ability to use multi core processing in parallel while lowering the amount of data that has to be stored in RAM. That's what I got from my reading, anyway! :-)

Oh man it is looking like you will be spot on with this!

Great point about Steem being the only non-geek cryptocurrency. It takes time to get beyond bitcoin though. Probably my example is typical: I started with bitcoin, then went on to the other cryptocurrencies and only then have discovered Steem.

Great article man ! Some very interesting points about EOS, i hope we see a release somewhere in the . close future. Upvoted and followed u :)

The fact that you can enter the cryptocurrency space through posting on steemit and not buying from some place like Coinbase is remarkable. This is a huge open door to the crypto world that allows users access that would have otherwise been closed off.

We should make steemit crypto-university. You can learn by reading voting and writing and even get paid to learn crypto

The old paradime is pay to learn and the new paradime is get paid to learn.
Best,
Isaac
