Regardless of what you think snowfall is NOT solely determined by mother nature. The truth is snowfall is now engineered by those who think they know best.

SNOWIE is the the acronym for the government program Seeded and Natural Orographic Wintertime Clouds: The Idaho Experiment. Silver iodide (AgI) is dispersed into clouds to enhance rain or snowfall through a process called cloud seeding. The SNOWIE program has been in operation since 2003, and continues to expand to this day, regardless of the consequences of the overall outcome.

Cloud seeding: Humans interfering with mother nature.

While places like Erie, PA continue to dig out of their last record breaking snowfall another lake effect blast is on its way. Meanwhile, unusual winter weather events are occurring in abnormal locations. These events put lives at risk because of extreme temperatures, massive snowfall amounts and lack of preparedness.

In their 1965 publication, Weather and Climate Modification, the National Science Foundation candidly admitted, "lack of full understanding of the consequences has never been a reason for man to forbear modifying a part of his environment. He does not refrain from ploughing a Carolina field because he is ignorant of the full effects upon soil biota or upon runoff. He has not held up the construction of storage dams in Kansas because of doubt as to the readjustments in channel cross section and gradient which will take place downstream when the flow is regularized. Moreover, in seeking to alter the landscape in one way he may unwittingly cause damages to others. There never is a time in the present state of scientific knowledge about air, soil, water, plants, and animals when these changes can be recognized in all their complexity. To defer action until all the consequences are tallied up would be to halt all new resource management."

BELIEVE IT OR NOT......You are being "PROGRAMMED" to believe future snowfall totals are a natural course of events.

It all sounds interesting BUT..............

While there are those who firmly believe in the SNOWIE program there are definite cons to consider. It is obvious given the recent extreme weather related headlines that cloud seeding poses weather related hazards. Even scientists admit that it is not foolproof. Cloud seeding requires potentially harmful chemicals, so when you consider the overall cost of the program and the adverse effects to both humans and the environment, one might say the benefit of cloud seeding does not outweigh the risk.
