Parents, Read a Personalised Book to Your Children

in #entrepreneurship8 years ago (edited)

I met up with the founders of Bookyboo on a Saturday afternoon over coffee.

The husband and wife team started an online storybook business that allows parents (or uncles and aunts) choose a children's storybook and have their children becoming the main characters in the story. Neeraj and Hetal had created three stories so far and an e-commerce store.

On bookybookids.com you can choose one of the three books and insert the name of the child. In one of the adventure books, you can even choose an image that portrays the look the child. At the moment, handling and shipping take about 10 days but they said they are looking into improving that.

Coincidentally, an old friend happened to be there and I took the opportunity to introduce her to the two entrepreneurs and their books. She instantly said she would get one for her niece!

I just think it's cool you can pick a book that is personalised, with good quality paper and build the parent-child bond. No tablets, please. I hope they could produce more stories with interesting characters that appear alongside with the main "stars" of the book.
