'Batwoman' premieres her first trailer: Kate Kane takes over Batman's place
The CW is now one of the most important chains for WarnerMedia, which, for some years, has been able exploit almost perfectly its license for DC characters. There we have the case of the famous 'Arrowverse', his own universe where 'Arrow', 'The Flash', 'Supergirl', 'Legends of Tomorrow' and recently joined the action 'Batwoman', who will have his own series to debut next fall.
After the experiment that introduced Batwoman in the annual 'Elseworlds' crossover of the 'Arrowverse' last December, The CW decided to make a pilot of the series until it was finally approved a whole season a few months ago. This is how we now have the first trailer of the new series of 'Batwoman', which apparently includes an interesting introduction to the character and his relationship with Bruce Wayne and Batman.
"I'm not going to let a man take credit for a woman's work."
In this new series we will follow the adventures of Kate Kane, played by Ruby Rose, who is cousin of Bruce Wayne, who is missing after leaving Gotham in the midst of a crime wave. Jacob Kane, Kate's father, tries to help through his private security company, Crows Private Security, and sends Kate away for his own safety. Kate returns to Gotham and discovers that his girlfriend, security officer Sophie Moore, has been captured by a gang of criminals and decides to take the role of Batman.
We must remember that 'Batwoman' represented a before and after in the world of comics when he returned to DC in 2006, at which time it was established that Kate Kane was Jewish and lesbian, thus becoming the first DC character with the title of "lesbian superheroine". The original character was born in 1956 with the aim of giving a partner to Batman, but it was eliminated from continuity with the 'Infinite Earth Crisis' of 1985.
'Batwoman' debuts this autumn on The CW and will be written and directed by Caroline Dries in collaboration with Greg Berlanti, the person responsible for the creation of "Arrowverse" and the success of DC in The CW.
