HELIX

"Helix is an American science fiction thriller drama television series that aired on Syfy from January 10, 2014 to April 10, 2015.[1] The series followed a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) who traveled to a research facility in the Arctic to investigate a potential outbreak of disease."

Welcome to the first of my Netflix Series Review! I'm excited to start out with this small project for my blog. I hope to continue expanding the idea as more and more series get reviewed! (After all, I watch a ton of them, might as well make something good out of it)

I'll start with this truly amazing series of which I have only watched the first season out of the current two that it has released. It left me incredibly excited, curious and wanting more! It seems sort of ridiculous that I would do this without having watched the second season but it was just so good and I have heard so little about this series that I wanted to bring it to the Steemians attention.

Let's get right to it. Helix is a very well produced motion series in which the cast delves deeper and deeper into a fountain of mystery that never seems to run out. From the very beginning the spectators are put into a position where there are very few outcomes to be seen, or even predicted. So many factors are at play and yet we know nothing until they choose to reveal themselves or a panic attack breaks out.

Imagine the situation: Arctic polar base, completely isolated from the rest of the world aside from one measly communications satellite that works only when the satellite is close enough in its orbit to pick up its signal, hundreds of people in complete lockdown due to quarantine, deadly virus, whose working is absolutely unkown except that it has a high mortality rate, spreads incredibly quick and makes its infected human hosts incredibly strong, fast, agile and lethal.
YEAH, I'm already pissing my pants at this point and this is just the first episode.

Glossing over the plot points so that you get no spoilers, a massive conspiracy, clueless scientists, nimble abominations and a looming mistery are what make Helix such a masterpiece. I suggest you get into it right away if you're into mystery, cool as hell visual effects, a thick plot and a great cast.

So far, Helix receives a 4.5/5 from me, share your opinion below if you've watched it! I'm quite open to suggestions if anyone wants me to check out a show and then write a review!

Possible tenants for next review: Marvel's The Punisher, Helix Season 2.
