You know what's genius? Scat singing and dance music! That's a genius fusion which was made popular by the late John Paul Larkin widely known as Scatman John. I came across his videos today and boy.. it just couldn't stop listening to his songs now. He was a legend! He sold millions of records worldwide and was even named Best New Artist for Echo Awards in Japan and Germany. You won't recall him but once you heard his songs, you will get the "Ohh... Dia pula ni.." (Ohh... It's him..) effects. He was widely famous for his songs, "Scatman (Ski Ba Bop Ba Dop Bop)", "Scatman's World" and "Everybody's World". Did it ring a bell? Let's go for a walk down memory lane~

How catchy was that? It was entertaining right? What you should know is that he suffered from a severe stutter right from the time that he learned how to speak. It eventually led him into depression and traumatic childhood. So he was introduce to scat singing at the age of twelve. He was also learning piano at that time so he often hid behind the piano in a way to avoid speaking. He received the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's Annie Glenn Award for his service towards the stuttering community. What an inspiration. At the age of 57, he died from lung cancer.
