Curiosity-Anatomy #2: It is impossible to sneeze with open eyes

Maybe you already noticed or tried it for yourself, but it's humanly impossible to keep your eyes open when sneezing. However you try the result will be the same but what is this?

There is a myth that if you kept your eyes open in the act Your eyes would fly due to the pressure exerted by the sneeze. It is clear that this myth is completely false because there is no sneeze so strong that it generates the amount of pressure needed to make it happen.

The real reason why this fact is inevitable resides in our unconscious so it becomes humanly possible to contradict it. Closing the eyes at the time of sneezing is a reflex act which we perform as the bacteria that we release through our noses could cause a terrible infection if they contact our pupil.

You know that if you want to challenge a friend to something, challenge him to sneeze with his eyes open is a good option because it will make it impossible to do it and will have to pay the consequences.
