Greetings, how are you steemit friends? Glad to see you again and hopefully healthy always. Today I am again discussing the innovation of construction materials that are growing in accordance with the needs of the times, hopefully useful.

Almost every construction work uses concrete as a complement to structural elements, concrete can be obtained by mixing several types of materials such as Portland cement, sand, gravel and water that will form mortar.

Currently, scientists and engineers continue to develop various types of concrete that are environmentally friendly, cheap and durable. Several types of concrete that are currently being developed are lightweight concrete and some other types.

concrete is a composite material formed from a combination of aggregates and cement. Age of conventional concrete usually reaches 21 days and hardened properties of concrete are obtained from hydrated cement.

Concrete has long been used by humans even according to some sources have begun long before the ancient Greeks and Romans, by utilizing various types of natural materials such as pumice and lime to create concrete.[source]

From various studies, finally, scientists found various types of health threats that can be caused by construction materials such as allergies, cancer and so on. This is because the average construction material made of various chemicals.[source]

This causes scientists and engineers to work hard to deal with this serious problem, so nowadays there are various kinds of materials and building healthy and environmentally friendly one of them hempcrete concrete by founder Hemp Technologies David Madera.[source]

We'd better get closer to this kind of eco-friendly concrete and some contra against it.

HEMPCRETE

Hempcrete is a type of concrete made of marijuana and lime and some other mixtures, this type of bio-composite concrete is also known as Hemplime. [source]

Peter Ashley (head of the housing department and the US home health office) greatly appreciates this innovation.

"The potential use of hemp as a healthy building material is very significant"[source]

The results of research on bio-composite materials say that the health conditions of home occupants using hempcrete are improving compared to those who still inhabit houses with conventional construction materials.[source]

The United States as a country that legalizes hemp as a building material still continues to develop this technology even though the material is still imported, it actually makes the hempcrete expensive, as we know that hemp from marijuana is still illegal in the US.[source]

Hempcrete is considered to have many advantages over conventional materials because hempcrete is a type of material made from organic, has a lighter weight, and zero carbon.

Hemp is actually different from the type of cannabis commonly found, hemp is a type of plant that is often used in the field of industry and belongs to varieties Cannabis Sativa L. [source]

The advantages of hempcrete among others.[source]

  1. Soundproof.
  2. Thermal insulation.
  3. Anti termites and rats.
  4. Fire resistant.
  5. Stronger than conventional concrete
  6. Hold the crack.
  7. Lighter than conventional concrete.

Many countries actually have not legalized marijuana to be consumed or cultivated because marijuana is included in the psychotropic category, in accordance with international opium conversion in Hague, Switzerland in 1911-1912 [source]. making hempcrete technology still rare in some developing countries, such as Indonesia.

Hempcrete is obtained by mixing hemp fiber with lime, cement, and water you can also add sand and cement. hempcrete manufacturing process.

  1. Mix the hems that have been destroyed with water and binder (lime) by comparison, 1 Kg hemp, 1.5 Kg binder and 1.5 kg water.
  2. Place on containers and solids using wood or other tools.
  3. Allow for chemical reactions to occur
  4. Once you are sure the hemp mix is binding each other then you can directly pour into the mold.
  5. But you can also mix the mortar with Portland cement.
  6. After the stirring process is complete, you can directly pour into the mold to obtain the hempcrete concrete.
  7. You can apply the hempcrete to the wall by utilizing the mold.

You can plaster or coat the surface of hempcrete with wallpaper to get a neater surface.

In addition to direct can be used directly to be a wall, hempcrete also can be formed like a brick that can be used in the future if needed.

CONCLUSION

Hempcrete is an innovative construction material at the same time, as well as an environmental and health rescue movement. Hempcrete is newly developed in several countries and is still being fought for legal use, given the illegal hempcrete substance in some developing countries.

Hempcrete made from a kind of marijuana plant that is often used in industrial activities, hempcrete become expensive because there are still many countries that have not legalized this type of plant so it must be imported

If you want to create hempcrete, you should coordinate with the local government to avoid misunderstandings that actually harm you.

Hempcrete is considered to have many advantages including, lighter and stronger than conventional concrete.

Structurally, if you use hempcrete in buildings more than one floor as a wall element would benefit greatly because it does not overload the structure of the building.

This is the only thing I can write on this occasion, over all the mistakes and lack of unintentional writing as a servant of God, I apologize.

Thanks to friends who have visited this blog and provided constructive comments, as well as scientists who are willing to sacrifice their time for a better civilization.

Marijuana walls improve the health of the inhabitants? Amazing (and hilarious, in fact ^^).

that's the source I received (or am I wrong source?) :)

This is not what I meant... I didn't know these facts and I found the story really funny :)

Hahahaha :D

@lemouth, ha ha ha I think he meant as a building material, not for smoking, although imagine the pyromania

wow, hempcrete ! amazing !
hope you don't get high if u live in such a house hehehe

Industrial Hemp, at least in my state of Colorado, may not contain more than .03% THC in any part of the plant by law. Cultivars have been carefully selected and maintained in areas like industrial hemp, and CBD(cannabidiol) to keep THC low and CBD high. I know you are mostly kidding, but there should be no concerns about getting "high."

Amazing post, construction with marijuana. All I knew marijuana needed was just a fire to get some heat into your system. But it's all different now. Thanks to you...

I wonder
its material is made of marijuana leaves
but why it is resistant to fire, really amazing science
thanks your post @kharrazi

a mixture of cement and lime that makes it fire resistant, you're welcome :)

:D I just found out that cannabis leaves can also be used in building materials.
thank you his knowledge @kharrazi

Keep in mind that when speaking (industrial hemp), the material is mostly coming from the fibrous stalks and not the leaf material.

true, not the leafs

Nice research

goddamnnn that picture of the hemp fields has me drooling all over my keyboard. I need to be there. Pure beauty.

The first time I hear about it.Probably people living in such home to catch the eternal buzz.Which is better and eco-friendly is concrete on the basis of wood sawdust of pine, cedar, fir.

I think it's a great invention. I like it, and will pay close attention to this project.

Hello @kharrazi!
Nice to meet you, I'm a civil engineer from Venezuela.
Your post is incredibly interesting, and I have several questions about the subject ...
How is the behavior of this concrete before the occurrence of earthquakes and fires?
According to what you say, is much stronger and lighter than conventional concrete, this is proven by previous studies or thesis? How would the equivalent dosage be? for example, for a concrete of f'c 250 kg / cm2.
And finally, do you think you can have a feasible future?
If you can, follow me, I have some post, I'm new and I plan to continue publishing about civil engineering
Cheers.
