The Opposite of a Logically Consistent National Energy Strategy.

Cool. Did you know that by 2030 China will have 1,600 coal fired power plants and the USA will have 40?

What do you think of the strategy to build more solar and wind and coal fired power plants than everyone else combined?

Have you seen how polluted Chinese cities are, with just 1,150 coal plants? No matter how much solar and wind they build in the country, the big cities will still have the worst air quality in the world.

Meanwhile, China is currently engaged in territorial conflicts with 37 nations, even though it only borders 13.

Soon China will resume its century old territorial conflict with Russia, and it’s already in trade conflict with the 32 nations of the European Union, so that will make conflict with an even 70 nations, not counting the USA.

This will mean it will be increasingly difficult to boost exports, and I would expect total exports from China to fall over time.

Meanwhile China’s population is shrinking.

I think a great deal of these energy assets will end up underused and will not provide a decent return on investment.
