Emotional success
Being emotionally intelligent can make you successful. When you have emotional intelligence you can get a balance between the rational part and the emotional part. To find that balance you need self-awareness. On the other hand, the motivation and the self-regulation are important aspects that you need to develop. Therefore, if you integrate these aspects you will able to manage your emotions to achieve what you want.
Dr. Goleman(1995) described emotional intelligence as a person's ability to manage his feelings so that those feelings are expressed appropriately and effectively.
The emotional intelligence refers to the relationship between the reason or thinking and the emotions and feelings. You cannot be only rational because sometimes, the emotions help you to take decisions but you cannot be only emotional because you would not have an analytical criterion to handle the sensations and make sense of them. That is why it is important a good synchronization between the rational and emotional part.
The self-awareness refers to the knowledge about our own internal states, moods and intuitions. Within this aspect you will find the emotional awareness, self-valuation and self-confidence.
To finish, the motivation are those emotional tendencies the guide to the achievement of the objectives through the commitment, optimism and motivation to achieve. The self-regulation is the control of the internal states and impulses; it is made up of self-control, reliability, integrity, adaptability and innovation. All of these aspects help to take control of every situation in the life to achieve success.
