New Discovery in Cairo
Giant discovery in Egypt: a cemetery 2,000 years ago. The bizarre inscription found in one of the graves
Archaeologists have discovered a cemetery that dates back 2,000 years ago.
In the necropolis, which was built during the Ptolemy Dynasty, 2,000 years ago, Egyptologists have already found 8 graves, but they may still identify others. There were more sarcophagi in each tomb, so 40 mummies were found in the 8 graves excavated so far. The funeral complex is in southern Cairo, writes Science Alert.
One of the tombs belongs to a priest of the god Thoth, the god in the form of ibis. The priest was called Djehuty-Irdy-Es and was the official title of "One of the Five Great", awarded only to the most important priests of the Thoth god.
More than 13 sarcophagi were found in this tomb, probably from the members of the priest's family.
Archaeologists have found more than 1,000 statues and various objects in the tombs containing hieroglyphic inscriptions.
Some help the Egyptologists to identify the people buried there, and others are simply bizarre. For example, a necklace discovered here contains the wish "A Happy New Year."
the historic discovery of past lives of worship to gods, it can be categorized that humans continue to seek the creator in the form of worship
