IF YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE RIGHT, YOU HAVE TO DO IT YOURSELF

A maxim that is clear as a crystal, stating that if something that is very crucial to us and that it had to be done immediately then we should not wait for someone else to finish the task rather go ahead and do it ourselves. There are times in our lives that demand our attention and only our attention.

Of course there are times when a little help from someone is expected but not every time we will get the same result as we would have hoped for.
Although the maxim should not be taken too seriously that we forget that we are only humans and we are not capable of doing every man’s task in this planet.

There are some or rather majority of work fields where we must inevitable need a professional who knows his or work inside out. For example we cannot go ahead and perform a surgery on someone only because we want the job to be done right and done fast that is a work field that specifically demands professionals.

We cannot do task such as house building, or road making or even plumbing by ourselves unless of course we have any knowledge on the latter one. It is good to know a thing or two about things and perform DIY and work on stuff but it is better to leave some task to professionals and professionals only.

There are certain cases where people who want to achieve excellence do not want anyone else to do their job. They simply cannot delegate their task to someone else, to those people I want to say that it is okay to strive for an A grade work; but you also have to admit the fact that not everything is possible by you unless you are a super hero or a shape shifting mutant with lots of supernatural power.

These people who are scared to delegate work then should see and delegate the task to the best workers who know their job thoroughly and can meet their expectations.
Having said that let’s talk about the areas where one can actually work on oneself. All the personal goals that one sets for oneself, do it yourself after all who knows your tastes better then yourself.

There are times which demands only your efforts such as decorating a Christmas tree or changing the wallpapers or even cooking a meal. In my hostel lives there are times that need my serious attention and the work that I think would be fine if I delegate it someone else, I am proved wrong. There was this one case where I had given this task to a roommate of mine to clean the room so that the room can be more habitable by humans, but even after my continuous efforts she was not doing it, at last I had to do it on my own.

It turned out that I did a pretty nice job other than what I thought my roommate would have done.
A short fable that comes to my mind that is quite the story for any kid that that does not like to do his stuff on his own and has to depend on others for finishing it. Aron was school boy who had to wait for his friend to come over to cook him dinner as Aron did not know how to cook dinner, and thus he was most of the time at the mercy of his friend to help him out.

He did not like it though but he had no choice of his own, sometimes his friend would come so late that Aron would fall asleep without even having dinner. Only day this another friend of Aron suggested him that he should learn cooking and should make his dinner on his own; and soon enough Aron learnt how to cook and not too long that he did not have to depend on others to make meals for him.

And the interesting part of the story is that he was a lot better cook than his friend. The story has more than one lessons in it, first it better to be independent than rely on anyone else forever, next if you do some work that is important to you than you should definitely do it yourself rather than rely on anyone else, if you don’t know how to work that thing out ask for help or even learn if it is possible.

It is not suggested that you should learn wiring only because you will do it better but task like doing the laundry, or even painting the house that do not take direct toll on a human body should be better done by the concerned person himself.

Many at times it is seen that in a work place if a person wants another person to do something and the other person is for some reason is not efficiently accomplishing the task then he or she should not be delegated with that task rather the person concerned should go ahead and perform the task himself.

For example if a presentation is to be given in front of a board of members and this colleague of your is quite inefficient to handle the responsibility efficiently than one should not wait for any other moment but rather step ahead and take the responsibility themselves.

There might be many reasons why anyone is not capable of doing something but rather than blaming them for not being capable enough to deliver the performance one should do the task themselves, in this case give the presentation themselves, that way you can give the presentation that would be best delivered and it will be done by you.

Now it should not be mistaken that one should do all the task in the office themselves, and to be practically speaking it is not your responsibility to head to every problem, but it is rather suggested that if a task that is concerned with you, if you want it to be done and if you want it to be done properly than you should do it yourself.
