Growing up as a child I was surrounded by mostly business people and for that reason I was able to get the real picture of things in our society. Without businesses no society can be stable and productive.

Often times when we think about businesses that move the economy forward what comes to mind is something like oil companies. That infact is not the case in real life. What actually moves the economy of any society are the small and medium scale business enterprises, most of which are small farms, small factories, small laboratories and mini trading. Small and medium scale enterprises are important because the average citizen is involved and can help identify local problems that are confronting the economy. The truth is, people who actually know the problem of any society are people from the grassroots but for some reason they are neglected.

Small and medium scale enterprises are good because the won't remain small forever. There should be many enterprises to enhance healthy competition between businesses. Competition between businesses helps to improve competence and managerial skills among leaders of industries.

The people who have the power to move and shake any society are it's young population which happens to be students. Students are treasures to anyone who can effectively work side by side with them. The average student spends a minimum of 4 years in the university and that is a resource. This means that aside from the academic program a student is faced with, there are also opportunities to pickup and master new skills.

The advantage of picking up skills in school is that the student has enough time to make mistakes and eventually up their game for positive results in the future. When you are not under pressure to do something, you can do it comfortably without the fear of failure and responsibility. The ease at which things can be achieved when pressure is removed from the equation can be very surprising. The university is the perfect place to learn. To my fellow students out there, never feel ashamed to make mistakes as a young person. The mistakes you make today will serve as sources of experience to circumvent and navigate through future challenges that you may be faced with.

New ideas come to students in school because they have less responsibilities at that stage of their lives. That is when businesses are started. Many of the powerful companies in the world today were started in universities by students and other like minded individuals. There is so much knowledge in the university environment and we should try as mush as possible to harness it.
Students in the university serve as part of the small and medium scale enterprises in the society that aid rapid development.
