In today's world, the language that is used by most of the people from around the world for communication is the English language. Every important article that we read on internet is in English. So this language has too much importance at the moment. If you understand it, you can get too much benefits out of it.
I am not here to preach people to learn this language. But i want everyone to know how important it is to understand English at the moment. Because we can't find a translator for us everywhere. I respect all languages that is spoken in this world. Its a good choice to keep English in your inventory of languages. We can say that English has become the medium of communication of this world. My mother tongue is Persian, I can't say it in words how beneficial it has been for me to learn and understand English and it has helped me throughout my life.
I know there are many people who want to learn and understand the basics of this beautiful language. So from now, I will also be making posts on learning the basics of English which includes tenses, words and their meanings and many more.
My today's post is about the Present Tense.
What is a Present tense ?
Present Tense :
Present tense is a tense that describes the current situation or event or state. In Present tense we use first form of verbs mostly. But sometimes it can also describe past and future events.
In English, present tense have four types. For now, we will not go in details for every single one of them. But I will discuss them in future posts.
Here are the four types of Present tense :
- Simple Present Tense.
- Present Continuous Tense.
- Present Perfect Tense.
- Present Perfect Continuous Tense.
But for now lets get a better understanding of present tense with the help of few examples.
Examples of Present Tense :
So here are few examples below which defines the current state of being or current situation or event.
- I play football.
- I like chocolates.
- I work at store.
In above examples, we used present tense to only talk about present events.
Here are few examples in which we use present tense to talk about future events.
- My train leaves this evening.
- The plane arrives in an hour.
Mostly to define past events using present tense is when we summarize a story or event we heard or read about it.
