Is India facing Educational Crisis ?

in #education5 years ago (edited)

Ever wondered, where are we, the people of India heading to ? What are we running after ?

Being in the 21st century, rather than being more modernized in all aspects why does our country still lag behind most of the countries in many dimensions.
Being a largely populated country, mismanagement of human resource will cost us later and is probably a great hindrance to the development of our country at present.
From all the various factors where our system has defects EDUCATION is probably at the apex.

Education is not just being literate but way beyond that. But the flaws in our educational system drags us to be behind others.
Now let us study what actually leads us backwards :
•Our government doesn't invest a handsome amount of money on Quality Education. The quality of teaching from teachers all around India will have high marginal differences in the method of teaching.
•Our Educational system is mostly theoritical and less practical. We are never taught any extraordinary skills at the school or college level that would help us stand out in a crowd. We just are made to run a race that everyone else's is running. Bookish knowledge leaves us really behind many since we loose contact of what happens in the world around us.
•Education is getting absolutely commercialised through the increase in number of coaching centres demanding large amounts of money in the name of quality education whereas they don't really keep an eye on the stats of the students' performance from time to time.
•Gradation system has also helped the less knowledgeable ones to go higher providing tough competition the real intelligent ones who were demarcated properly in the past prevailing percentage system to be in the race.
•Now another factor that is even a sub major cause of defect in our system is the one caused by the moneyed people.
-Illegal buying of degrees
-Paying to pass exams
-Donations to get admissions into better colleges.
-High fees for only applying for Entrance tests
And this now leads to produce many youths with absolutely no skills but degrees of no use that lead them into unemployment.
•Reservation system too creates chances for the underprivileged ones to avail amazing facilities whereas the talents are lost in the meanwhile.
•Engineering and Medical streams are getting saturated at a higher rate where as there are various other fields that can help earn well but the youths have no idea of this.

These defects in the system make people dishonest and corrupt in no time.
Govt jobs assure good money to the teachers which helps increase teacher absenteeism in schools.
The schools in remote areas rarely have teachers. If present most of them are themselves poorly educated. You can seen hundreds of such teachers on YouTube where the teachers teaching many classes at a time lack even the basics.

Solution to this problem can only be achieved if stringent rules are made by the government along with monitoring the level of quality teaching, if every single person gets aware with all these facts and people introspect themselves enough to prevent these wrong practices.
This will not only help to improvise the system but will help us step a little ahead.
