There's always an excellent reason to ignore somebody if you go looking.
"Kids, stay away from drugs."
Did you ever do drugs, Dad?
If yes, you're a hypocrite. If no, you're underqualified to offer advice and pass judgement.
You can't win. Like a dog chasing it's tail.
So you judge the credibility of the message, not the messenger.
