Germany - Agreement with BCE to Print Zero Euro Banknotes
Since Tuesday, new zero euro banknotes are in circulation in Germany . No, this is not a joke but a project approved by the European Central Bank, thanks to which Berlin can issue a new set of worthless notes to pay tribute to the port city of Schleswig-Holstein , Kiel , the northernmost of the German federal states.
With the euro-denominated euro banknotes dedicated to the city of Kiel, of course, it is impossible to shop, but these notes have been printed by the ECB like any other 10, 20 or 50 euro ticket. The same watermark, same reliefs and same holograms.
Passionate numismatics go to Kiel, in fact, to purchase the lilac banknotes at a cost of € 2.50 each. The 5,000 printed pieces, the town of Kiel said on Facebook , ran out in less than 24 hours. So much so that the municipal administration has already commissioned a second edition that will be available in about a month. If you want to get a zero-euro ticket right away, you can already order it on the port city's website.
Are the BCE and Germany trying to send us a subliminal message before the gig crash coming? Looking after for your comments!
