Okay, econ boys and girls, what's the fallacy here? Assume for the moment that the prices in the lower picture are accurate (I am skeptical, but it's not the point). Why is this comparison fallacious?
Note : I hate memes that imply people are poor because they're dumb.
Hey @honeybee, you could say that this post is real food for thought, hehe.
Wow, those food prices are shockingly low. I'm guessing these are all special offer prices that probably never occur at the same time. So if I'm getting you right, this meme was intended to attack low income families that consume fast food instead of preparing their own food with what's available at the supermarket. Ordering from KFC for starters eliminates all costs related to storage and preparation. Also if you don't have access to cooking facilities, how are going to you prepare it?
I remember when people of limited means were criticized for paying daily for transport instead of buying monthly or yearly passes, which are more affordable on a daily basis. Truth is, these people don't have a lump sum of cash to buy these passes, therefore end up paying for the more expensive daily tickets.
I really like this post. I was hesitant to upvote at first because it is very short. I know many people like to count words as an indication of value. I think any post can be valuable regardless of the number of words. A very experienced curator of content told me that we should upvote what we like even if we think that the content might be unpopular with others. I didn't really quite get that approach at first but after seeing your post today, it really makes so much sense. I like to think of your short post as a golden nugget because it adds value and stimulates my mind.
upvote for me please? https://steemit.com/news/@bible.com/2sysip
