Can I really make money on eBay?

I've been watching many Youtubers talk about how they make money selling used items on eBay. It appears that some are making couple thousands a month and some are making more.

Is this really do-able?

Those Youtubers are making pretty okay money, so they say. They also say that they have to dedicate some time doing this (just like any other jobs out there.) Some are doing this full time and some less.

Again, is this do-able?

I have a full time job (45 Hours a week). So my time is pretty much spent. I do have one to two days off, though. Few days of no work!! So I thought maybe I can experiment to see if selling pre-owned clothes on eBay makes good money or not. Why not? I get to go clothes shopping as my "second job" and make money, too?? How awesome that would be!

So I decided to start my own experiment by utilizing my day offs to go shopping, take inventory, take bunch of pictures, and post on eBay.

It took a lot of my time to do this actually. Didn't expenct to take my whole entire day to do all that. Literally, I shopped at one store for 3 hours!!!! I don't even do that for my own shopping. Crap. Maybe this is harder than I thought it would be!

Then here comes the inventory. I recorded Everything on spreadsheet so it's easier for me to post on eBay. That includes the measurements of the clothes and conditions. I swear that took long time, too.

By then I was already spending good 6 hours just to shop and take inventory. Good grief. Now I have to post on eBay??? This is another full time job if it's going to take this long each time. Not sure how all those Youtubers/eBayers have time for all this. Can you tell I was already feeling discouraged?

Well, I finally posted my items on eBay. Amazingly, that didn't take too long. My first item took the longest but from the second item it was much easier (using "sell similar item" feature.) This took about 2 hours for posting 8 item. This includes the time I packaged the items in polybags to keep them clean and for easier shipment.

So total of my time spent for first day was about 8 hours. Not bad for a first time..... Maybe.

Now that Items are posted on eBay, I just wait. Obviously I cannot just post few items and wait until it sells. I have to keep searching for items to sell. But that's for another day.

So here's the recap on time spent;
Shopping/looking for items - 3 hours
Inventory - 3 hours (!!!)
Posting - 2 hours
Total 8 hours.

I think that's pretty bad but hey, this is my first time. I'm sure it'll get better and faster!

If you are interested, look for my posting on eBay. My user name is chewygooeygumi76. Maybe you can give me some pointer on what I should do better!!!
