Thank you Sadness!
You bring me one step closer to joy!
“How could you do that?”
The Inner Critic Said!

I told her that Sadness brings me joy because I am meeting myself exactly where I am!
I am not telling myself the Happiness Lie!

“Why would you expose me like that asked the Inner Jailer again?”
“Because self-honesty stops your lies right in their tracks!
I can truly understand myself with love….”

“Again, I don’t get it said the Inner Critic…”
Of course you would not get it!
You cannot stop thinking of another lie!

Thank you my Best Friend Rage for keeping me in my cage!
You let me know why I feel a certain way inside!
If I do not honor how I feel inside you take me for a ride!

“You have it all backwards!
These aspects do not deserve your love!
I am here to keep you In check!
I am here to keep you from growing by constantly playing the record in your head!”
Said the Inner Jailer!

Inner Jailer,
When will you get the message?
When will you understand that if I turn on myself I am losing the battle?
You want me to show you love, but you do not want equality for all!
I have room for each and every one of you inside of my heart!
I will keep loving you all while you gain the strength to come back home!
Do you want to work with me or against me?
I will always love you no matter how much you want to keep fighting me!
