Alastair Majury on Ramoyle Public Meeting

A community led public meeting for residents in the Ramoyle area of Dunblane, organised and promoted by Councillors Douglas Dodds, and Alastair Majury, and attended by all of the ward councillors was held in St Blane’s Church Hall on the evening of Thursday 19th July.

Attended by approximately 50 local residents, the historic nature of Ramoyle was recognised and welcomed by all, a variety of issues were raised including refuse collection, poor state of the road, road level rising over a period of years so that it is almost at door level now, speeding traffic, ‘access only’ being ignored, and infrastructure problems relating to lead pipes, drainage, poor broadband, and gas.

Residents and councillors have agreed to have a follow-up meeting at 7pm on Thursday 8thNovember, with all local councillors agreeing to meet with councillor officers and organise a site visit in order to formulate and arrange for a community action plan and co-ordinating role.

Local Conservative Councillor Douglas Dodds said:

Local Conservative Councillor Alastair Majury said:
“It was a useful and very well attended meeting, given the local importance of the historic Ramoyle area, it would be useful to have a well thought out joint action plan with full community consultation, so that a majority of both local residents and the wider community agree on what improvements are to be made and next steps.”

Alastair Majury resides locally in the historic Scottish city of Dunblane, and is a Senior Regulatory Business Analyst working across the country. Alastair Majury is also a volunteer officer at the local Boys’ Brigade company, a charity which focuses on enriching the lives of children and young people, and building a stronger community. Alastair Majury also serves on the local council (Stirling Council) as Councillor Alastair Majury where he represents the ward of Dunblane and Bridge of Allan, topping the poll.
