I feel that is the best.
By saving the forest, the water eco-system shall be preserved.
While the forest becomes water catchment, the Villagers can gain pure water for domestic uses.
The Forest also become a luxurious place for animals to live there.
Interestingly water-sports can be a fun activity there.
