Dtube - why are those "fees" so high?

You probably have heard of dtube. It is a great alternative to YouTube on the steem blockchain.

Finally we have a platform to publish videos without any censorship.

But there is one thing a little strange. When you publish your video 25% of all rewards go to dtube.

Sure, I understand that the creator what's to get his share of profit, but don't you think 25 % is far to high?

It's a big share of the steem reward pool that go to one person and therefore are missing everywhere else in steemit.

Yes, I know, he pays IPFS with it as well, but according to the announcement it only costs 10% of the 25% he takes (2,5% of the whole reward)

Don't you think it is way too much as well? Shouldn't 5% should be enough passive income from a project like that (what still could mean thousands of dollars every week)

If you have not yet, you can read the announcement of the platform here: https://steemit.com/video/@heimindanger/introducing-dtube-a-decentralized-video-platform-using-steem-and-ipfs

I am going to use the 25% to pay for some stuff, and also for myself. In the end, I doubt the fees will be 25%, probably 5% with a button to even put 0%.

Oh and 10% of 25% is 2.5% not 0.25%

I was seeing on the @pressfortruth interview that you are not getting much sleep! :)

Thank you for your answer 😀
If it's only for the beginning it sounds more reasonable.
Do you have any time frame (or steem amount) you think you need until you lower this "fees"?

Word Up!

and it's surprising to see how few are aware of the premium fee they are paying when posting via DTube!

I am new to Steemit, just found out about DTube gonna search some more info, if it's more profitable then youtube, I'll switch platforms :).

As far as I can judge it, it is only more profitable if your videos make all their gains in the first seven days, since after 7 days you do not get any more reward for new upvotes.

And there are still much less watchers on dtube than on YouTube.

Maybe you should try to post them on both platforms. Dtube for some quick reward and YouTube for a long term passive income...
