All-rounder Dinesh Mongia has announced retirement from all forms of cricket, 12 years after playing his last international match. The 42-year-old represented India in 57 ODIs from 2001 to 2007 and was also part of India's first-ever T20I. Mongia last represented his domestic side Punjab in 2007 before joining the now-defunct Indian Cricket League.

A street has been named after 19-year-old tennis player Bianca Andreescu in her hometown of Mississauga in Canada to honour her for winning 2019 US Open. The sign of the street named 'Andreescu Way' was unveiled by Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie at a rally dubbed 'She The North' to celebrate Andreescu's victory. Canadian PM Justin Trudeau also attended the event.

Team India captain Virat Kohli has said that the youngsters would get four to five opportunities to prove themselves in T20I cricket. "We have 30 odd games (before T20 World Cup). From team's point of view, it is very clear. Even when I got into the team it is not like I was expecting 15 opportunities," he added.

Vinesh Phogat has become the first Indian wrestler to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after defeating American wrestler Sarah Hildebrandt in the World Championships. Vinesh will wrestle in the bronze-medal bout against Maria Prevolaraki of Greece later on Wednesday. The 25-year-old has qualified for the Olympics in the 53-kg category.
