Support Steem and upload to DLive & DTube instead of posting YouTube links
I get it. A lot of people have built communities and fan bases on other social media before discovering Steem. You might see Steem as a fun way to supplement your artistic income or even grow your fan base further.
So you post links to your existing content on other social media platforms. You make a gaming video on YouTube then post a link to it on Steem hoping to get a few extra clicks and perhaps even a few extra dollars.
This is wrong.
I'll tell you why. The beauty of Steem is that it's more than a social media platform. It's an idea. When you upload to YouTube you're giving a massive corporation your hard earned work and then splitting what little profits they decide to share with you (while earning said profits from advertising you may or may not support).
When you upload directly to Steem through DLive or DTube you're helping grow Steem as an idea. You're contributing content to a decentralized network where the content is freely shared among its other contributors and curators.
Better and more exclusive content helps Steem grow. As it grows more users join and in turn generate more revenue and Steem Power for creators. So it helps everyone.
And I'm not even saying you shouldn't have a separate YouTube channel. I created one just to advertise my Steem account (turn the system on its head). I'm just saying be sure to take your original content and also upload it to the Steem network instead of just posting links to your Twitch stream.
Because helping Steem helps you.
yes...thats why i like steemit...
couldnt agree more dude.
It's just frustrating to constantly see people just dump posting their youtube videos. Does nothing for Steem.
There are a lot of users (including me) for whom dTube videos will not play a large percentage of the time. That's a big part of why a lot of people don't use them. (Also not being embeddable is annoying, and they take a chunk of your post rewards.)
Try out DLive when that is the case. They play smoothly a lot more often on average I find.

DUDE I MEAN.
I feel like this is the most optimal way for us to help the platform grow. Like what's the point of posting stuff in here that's already been posted elsewhere?
I believe one of the strongests points in favor of Steemit is it's exclusivity because you will hardly find elsewhere content as good as you find here. In here you're certain that you will get something out of what you post. That's not something that other social media can offer to you so I feel like there's really a native effort from the users to really create amazing content that can't be found anywhere else.
I totally agree with this point and I'll start applying this on my posts.

Best Quote of the day! I don't usually post videos but the last time I post I had a hard time uploading onto Dlive. I sure hope the situation has changed since then (that was back in Feb I think)
Awesome and awesome!
That's why my friend told me to try steemit and Dtube first. I followed you. I would love it if you followed me.
